Role: Java Developer
Location: NY
Duration: 1 year

Need 8-9+ years  candidate.

 

JOB SUMMARY: 

SCOPE OF SERVICES:

•       Develop all Java/J2EE components to meet business requirements and in accordance with industry best practices, DoITT standards, and Citywide security policies.

•       Provide technical expertise, estimates, and recommendations to the Development Lead and project management.

•       Participate in the development of system design.

•       Develop presentation layer components.

•       Communicate risks and issues to the Development Lead.

•       Participate in requirements discussions and meetings as necessary.

•       Conduct Unit Testing, supporting Quality Assurance, and coordination of defect remediation.

•       Assist in documenting technical risks and issues, and actively work to avoid/mitigate/resolve those risks.

 

Deliverables:

•       Application source code.

•       Automated Unit test suite demonstrating that delivered source code meets functional and non-functional requirements, where applicable.

•       Assist in creating documentation such as but not limited to: Technical Design, Security Accreditation, and Application Setup Instructions.

 

MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

 

·         A minimum 8 years of experience in Java/J2EE development building enterprise web applications.

·         Extensive experience with Spring and Hibernate.

·         Strong experience in MVC and using other design patterns.

·         Experience with Oracle WebLogic 10.x+ or similar application server.

·         Experience with relational database such as Oracle, MS SQL Server or MySQL.

·         Experience with testing tools and techniques such as JUnit and continuous integration.

·         Strong experience with AJAX using JQuery or other frameworks.

·         Strong knowledge of data integration technologies and processes.

·         Experience with formal SDLCs and development methodologies.

·         Experience with Ant.

·         Knowledge of HTML, XML, JavaScript and CSS.

·         Knowledge of secure coding standards and best practices.

·         Must have experience with Subversion or CVS.

·         Must be a team player who works well with technical and non-technical resources.

·         Solid experience in XML Technologies (XML, XSL, XSD).

·         Solid knowledge of testing tools and techniques.

·         Must be able to provide documentation on their work.

 

DESIRABLE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

 

·         A Bachelors or Master's degree in MIS, Computer Science, or equivalent experience is desired

·         Experience in any content management system (TeamSite preferred)

·         Good communication skills

·         Experience using standard project tools including Microsoft Project, Excel, and PowerPoint
