In its bid to eradicate the incidence of counterfeit drugs in circulation in the country, the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has declared a certain Mr. Kenneth Okereke wanted for possessing several warehouses where counterfeit medicines are stored valued at over N1 billion, just as it has arrested four suspects including a printer for counterfeiting NAFDAC regulated products and other sensitive documents.

Director- General of NAFDAC, Dr. Paul Orhii who addressed journalists on the development said Okereke nearly overran the police officers that tried to arrest him before fleeing to unknown destination.
Speaking further, Dr. Orhii said a manhunt has begun for the fleeing suspect by security operatives both within the country and at the border posts and gave his last known address as House 3, Ameze street , off Magodo road, Shangisha, near Magodo in Lagos.

The NAFDAC boss gave the list of counterfeit medicines discovered in Okereke's illegal warehouses to include: "Tarvid 200 Milligramme (mg) tablet, Augmentin 625mg tablet, Novasc tablet, Proviron tablet, Glucophage 500mg tablet, GSK hologram for Loparex, Ciprotab (antibiotics), unlabelled injections, Lexotan tablet, Septrin packaging material and Cytotec 200mg (Misopostol) tablet which is used to start labour, induce abortions, prevent and treat stomach ulcers, among other drugs.

According to Dr. Orhii, Okereke's heinous crime has informed the action of the Agency by declaring him wanted, while imploring members of the public with useful information that may lead to the arrest of the suspect to contact the nearest NAFDAC office, the police or any security operative.
In a related development, the Agency also paraded Mr. Victor Okeke-Chinonyeluma for the forgery of NAFDAC's, Nigeria Custom Servive's (NCS), Nigeria Immigration Service's (NIS) and several banks' documents; and the quartet of Mr. Tochukwu Michael-Ozala, Mr. Ifeanyi Okoro, Mr Peter Nwanbuife and Mr. Nnaka Christian for counterfeiting Codrux cough syrup in Onitsha, Anambra state.
Parading the suspects before the newsmen, Dr. Orhii said the Agency had been trailing Okeke- Chinoyeluma since 2013 for "forging stamps for Option Freight International Limited (a clearing Company) to facilitate the clearance of 1 by 20feet and 1 by 40 feet containers of herbal drugs and herbal tea imported by Tianshi Health Products Company Limited".
Orhii explained further "It was in the course of processing the clearance of the consignment that Mr. Victor Okeke-Chinonyeluma was contacted by the a staff of Truth key ( a company which Option Freight International Limited sublet the clearing job to ) to forge the stamps".
