Re: [MTC Global] What is IIN?

It isnt the idea that is bad. Its the representation.

it has people who dont know believing its some kind of a new institution.

in reality it is a internet network... just like any other

would have been better if it had been followed up with an actual education network and a APP which would provide access to it. the app could have been made accessible to those with idea internet connectivity.

Those who troll I think missed the other half of the message. And I see this kind of garbage vomiting all the time-they are neither capable of ideation/ideating ,creativity but know how to troll and how to criticise and show their ignore under a 1000 watt bulb. They don't understand or empathise with the plight of kids in the villages ( not that they can but...)I am not involved in this but I would like to defend the idea.
The clams as in all Indian advertisement might be the sky but I think  it has value if,as I wrote, to tap into the huge reserve of  highly educated women-doctors and IITs and IT professionals sitting at home looking after babies and home and hearth.what a loss to this country-young talented women forced to give up lucrative jobs ( whatever the reason) and education.
The big challenge is going to be to execute this program
For once I am praying something happens:-))

IIN..means IDEA INTERNET NETWORK

the IIN advertisement ...focuses on using internet for learning...but IIN is not a place to study.

Its like RIN (reliance internet network)  or BIN(BSNL internet network)

Idea Cellular's IIN "idea" faces flak on social media

Idea Cellular started the year with a clear objective of increasing Mobile Internet penetration across the country and increase relevance for mobile internet, making it a way of life for people. Idea launched its latest campaign – “IIN, the greatest place to learn”.

Watch the TVCs here:

According to the company, the new ads are a reinforcement of Idea’s focus on the growth of mobile internet services and follows close on the heels of its award winning campaign – ‘No Ullu Banaoing’ – which won the ET Telecom Awards 2014 in the ‘Marketing Campaign of the year’ category, and may such accolades last year.

However, this time around, the brand has not received the kind of response it expected out of the ambitious campaign. Social media is abuzz with parodies and mocking trolls about the latest string of ads launched by the mobile operator.

Here are a few excerpts:

Idea’s take

In a press statement issued at the time of the campaign’s launch, Sashi Shankar, Chief Marketing Officer, Idea Cellular, said, “According to “While the ‘No Ullu Banaoing’ campaign focused on educating users on using the mobile internet, with IIN (Idea Internet Network), Idea aims to ‘empower’ the users, especially the youth, of using internet to their advantage. The campaign drives home the point that no matter how difficult or trying the situations get, the youth of today can sail through them with the help of technology - courtesy the Idea Internet Network.”

According to him, like all Idea ads, this one again picks up a societal problem and offers a simple but effective solution using the power of mobile telephony.   Education is the foremost important prerequisite for shaping tomorrow’s India. Limitations such as capacity in colleges, hyper competition, lack of funds etc. are creating undue pressure on the youth preventing them from attaining their ultimate ambition in life.

However, what the brand has to say on the mounting negative feedback is yet to be seen. Mails sent to Idea remain unanswered.

If as I understand it is an Idea networks initiative then their website should be able to give us some idea.
I just love the thought that we will be bringing to the table two resources: many of the educated ,especially women ,have been forced to give up their education and  jobs and be unproductive due to various reasons. It looks like they will be tapping into this vast idle human resource lying wasted and in frustration  and to connect with those who can't continue their education but are talented and passionate .It has been experimented elsewhere esp Africa and the results have been beyond, beyond anyone's imagination. What with the  penetration of the mobile into the  remotest of areas,we will now be able to marry off a major need and demand and an idle resource.
Where the programs like DD f ailed because of the monotony and monotone of the lessons provided, this interaction is based on an individual's skill and passion-how beautiful is that!! It is working miracles in the field of marketing-lets pray it does in Education too and we might find the next Picasso or a Zubin Mehta

India’s educational system is in tatters and worse, the little that is there to offer is inaccessible to many. Enter IIN, the greatest thing to happen to Indian education since teachers learnt to say “out of syllabus”.

The Idea Internet Network, with an abbreviation that fits right alongside the Indian Institute of Technology, the Indian Institute of Management and another outfit run by a man know to file legal suits from Silchar, has turned up as a one-size-fits-all solution.

Forced to work in your dad’s shop? IIN can teach you how to build a drone and make your work a little easier. Not allowed into college because you’re third-gendered? IIN gives you access to subjects with the same glitchy user interface of the Indian educational system. Stuck in the middle of Haryana’s patriarchal lands? Well, you’re still locked in the house, but you can see what an outside education might look like on IIN.

And this revolutionary development has not gone unnoticed. The Idea Internet Network has piqued everyone's curiosity, particularly those whose marks mean they can't really attempt to get into any other college. Unfortunately, there's not a lot of information out there on the internet about this great institution that could revolutionise India. Other than the TV ads that serve as perfect testimonials, we know very little, but intrepid citizens across our social networks have managed to cobble together a few details.
