Job Description:
Requires up to three (3) with 8+ years of professional Information Technology to analyze, design, code, test, implement and document a business solutions on agency's various .Net projects. The developer(s) will also contribute to developing business and functional requirements for the IT software application development project, as well as code and test.
Suitable candidate will have a proven track record working in .NET, C#, Java Script, XML, Web Services, MVC, Entity Framework, JQuery, SQL Scripts and SQL Reporting Services on software application development projects. Candidate will have a wide breadth of IT knowledge and experience. Documented IT experience should include (but not be limited to): experience in all phases of the standard IT Software Development Lifecycle and experience in different IT environments (such as Enterprise, Small Business and Government)
The timeframe to conduct the services is anticipated to begin June 5th , 2015 through December 30, 2015. The length of work assignment could be shortened or extended dependent on work requirements, estimates, progress and or funding availability during the project.
Work Schedule and Number of Hours: Monday through Friday, up to 40 hours per week.
Daily starting time will be approved by the Supervisor. Overtime and/or weekend hours could be required for some implementation activities as determined by the Supervisor, but no overtime shall be paid.
1.4 Required knowledge, skills and abilities
The contractor must have experience effectively using communication skills to achieve mutual understanding. Also, the contractor must be able to clearly communicate both orally and in writing to technical and non-technical audiences.
The contractor is expected to have demonstrated skills and knowledge in the following areas:
a) Ability to effectively contribute and work on a self-directed team.
b) Ability to effectively produce in multiple IT disciplines, including requirements identification, business analysis, coding, QA testing, and system documentation.
c) Skills in Object Oriented modeling and design
d) Skills in system requirements specification development and documentation
e) Strong leadership and communication abilities.
Specific duties include:
• Perform analysis, design, development, testing and implementation of software using C#, ASP.Net, WCF, MVC, Entity Framework, JQuery, HTML, JavaScript and XML.
• Expert in writing SQL Scripts.
• Generate XML files
• Communicate with web services to send and receive data.
• Develop Reports in SQL Reporting Services.
• Obtain an understanding of key business needs and work directly with end users to create effective solutions.
• Elicit, understand, and document complex business processes and translate them into solutions.
• Interact and consult with senior and midlevel managers of WSDOT business units, as well as key Subject Matter Experts.
• Exercise excellent communication skills for communicating various system issues and meeting the customer's expectations.
• Participate in workshop/interview meetings with business/application owners and end users
• Effectively manage time to assure commitments are met on schedule.
• Application Integration of .NET environments, and third party tools.
• Employ source code repository check-in processes.
• Employ a strong team-oriented focus
