Re: [MTC Global] Does it make sense ? Voice of an Air Veteran

Dear Comrades,

I can feel the pain this message carries, as I am one of those Air
Veterans fortunately or unfortunately (I really don't know). Ours is a
country which is mostly indifferent to its soldiers; out of ignorance
or choice. The nation remembers its sons and (now daughters) in
uniform only at the time or a crisis: be it floods, earthquake,
terrorism or enemy aggression. Rest of the times, hardly people care
for the soldiers.

The plight of veterans (most people even do not aware of or understand
this term) or ex-servicemen is scarcely taken care of by the society
we live in. The veterans, after having sacrificed their youth for the
nation for peanuts, continue to wage a different 'war' at their prime
of life for their survival at a relatively unfamiliar civil society.

I am glad that I have undertaken a pioneering research, as part of my
doctoral study, on "Resettlement of Ex-Servicemen in India" which is a
scarcely studied subject in India. For more information on some of my
publications in this regard, you may search Google with the keywords
"Air Force Veteran Maharajan" to find them on the first results page.

Request MTCians to spread the message in our march towards an inclusive society.
