Academic integrity is a very big term in the sense academic means only abstract, conceptual thought process that is very fluid and hard to define in certain parameters. For instance:

1. Are we open to accept somebody's academic criticism?
2. Do we believe in that I may contribute to knowledge that will be squashed later?
3. Academic integrity is the most superior form of integrity, e.g., lack of professional integrity may cause only corruption in material form, this is not the case with academic integrity. Since academic integrity is concerned with thought process, the corrupted thought process causes permanent losses.
   
4. Academic integrity means remaining detached from 6 human enemies (shadripus):
   

• Lust (Sanskrit:Kama)
• Greed (Sanskrit:Lobha)
• Anger (Sanskrit:Krodha)
• Pride (Sanskrit:Mada)
• Attachment (Sanskrit:Moha)
• Covetousness, Hate (Sanskrit:Matsarya, Dwesha, Matsar)

Plagiarism, obtaining fake degrees, sexual harassment, giving marks against payment, not to be happy on someone's academic or other achievements, are some of the outcomes of lack of integrity.

I consider the war of Mahabharata is the outcome of lack of academic integrity that led everything to destruction, fatal end.

The advanced countries are progressive simply because of academic integrity. _____________________________________________________________________________

I 100% agree with supriya madam. There are plenty of teachers who have taken up the profession by choice. They are doing a great job. All the teachers must be given salute for that.
