The QA Tester's primary duties include the testing of web-based application mechanics, features, and content. The individual should be self-motivated, creative and proactive, to work successfully in a fast-paced environment including multiple environments and architectures, diverse technologies and lab environments. The individual will work closely with the test lead, developers, project managers, network engineers and other stakeholders throughout the SDLC, executing test iterations, tracking and reporting results and troubleshooting. The individual should have a thorough understanding of SDLC processes and the QA lifecycle and methodology.
Responsibilities:
• Apply QA practices and test composition principles (boundary-value analysis, functional/regression/database testing, etc.) for web based applications
• Testing of content such as missing content and graphical errors
• Testing of features and functionality
• Interact with development, product management, project management and test lead to gain a strong understanding of the project and testing objectives
• Participate in troubleshooting and triaging of issues with different teams to drive towards root cause identification and resolution
• Document, track and escalate issues as appropriate, using HP Quality Center or similar tools/means
• Support application deployment during the off-hours for "validation testing"
• Works as directed with QA Lead and Manager
• All work to be performed on site
• Flexible hours may be required
Requirements:
• 3+ years QA experience
• B.S. Computer Science or technical certification and/or experience
• Previous Website / Billing / Platform testing experience
• Understanding PHP, JAVA, XML, or other programming languages
• Understanding of IP and VoIP networking, protocols such as HTTP/HTML and SIP, firewalls, routers, Apache, Weblogic, etc.
• Experience with writing SQL queries
• Experience working with UNIX/Linux environments
• Telecommunications experience a plus
Skills:
• Ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time
• Ability to prioritize work based on deadlines provided
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong attention to detail
