Role: MicroStrategy developer
Location: Herndon, VA.
Long Term Contract
Using the business intelligence reporting tool MicroStrategy, developer is responsible for enhancing and supporting reports and report objects. This may include analysis of requirements, design, implementation, testing, and support as necessary.
Required Skills:
• Strong experience as a MicroStrategy developer (reports, metrics, filters, etc.)
• Experience working with a Relational Database using SQL
• Ability to create and/or review MicroStrategy technical designs based on functional requirements
• Ability to build and maintain MicroStrategy schema objects (attributes, facts, hierarchies, tables, views, etc.) and public objects (metrics, filters, templates, reports, dashboards, etc.)
• Ability to work cross-functionally with business clients, business analysts, database administrators, testers, and other developers
• Ability to perform unit testing on all report object modifications
• Ability to manage object promotion through MicroStrategy SIT, CAT and production environments via defined Promotion Requests (PR) and Service Requests (SR)
• Experience supporting SIT and CAT test teams and fixing all identified defects
• Performance tuning to ensure acceptable report execution times, including validation of report SQL
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation
• Continue to advance knowledge of MicroStrategy report development and schema administration
• Strong written and verbal communication
• Software Development Lifecycle experience (Waterfall or Agile)
Preferred Skills:
• Experience as a MicroStrategy architect (tables, attributes, facts, hierarchies, etc.)
• Knowledge of advanced MicroStrategy features (distribution services, transaction services, mobile, etc.)
• Familiarity with MicroStrategy dashboard development
