[MTC Global] That extra mile...costs nothing

Sometimes we come across simple acts or simple work that would go unnoticed..unless we stop evaluate what others have done..even if it wasn't a part of their daily work.

Our college purchased new cuttlery and utensils. A fine crsytal glass was placed in each of our cabins for purely our personal use with our names ingraved on them.

A week after they arrived..my glass while being washed by one of the attendants caught a nick on the edge.

Although I couldn't drink from it anymore because I could accidentaly cut myself while drinking. I still didn't throw it away a sit had my name engraved on it.

I got a new attendant 15 days ago.. called sanjeev. He told me mam your glass is not safe. I said I know that's why I don't use it.

Today I had gone to examination centre for evaluation. on returning to my desk for lunch, I found the glass on the table ..all painted in vivid colours of floral motiffs. With the edge perfectly correct. But the glass seemed a little shorter.

I called the attendant. He said madam your glass is now drinkable. And explained while you were away I took the glass to the near by building..where they are installing windows. They quickly cut the edge. And I filed it

He further said...I am sorry its a little smaller. But  I have painted it with flowers. I got the left over oil paint tubes from the adjoining fine arts department.

I learned he had worked before this in a factory making tea cup sets. Lost his job due to loss in business.

Who am I to mind....his simple act...put my crystal glass ..looking better than everyone else glass.

All I could do was ask my HOD .... can we get him to do something better in fine arts and fashion designing. Department?

But then his qualification is a big hurdle?

Let see....
