RE: [MTC Global] Convocation Dress

Institutions can first work with a set of weavers to develop a product to their satisfaction. It has to be a mix of traditional and modern technologies. They can also engage fashion designers for this purpose. Then they can plan their long term requirement and place direct order with the weaver avoiding the middlemen. Such order could also be placed through institutions of textile designing and fashion technology that will also afford exposure to the students.

Dear All:

Handloom weavers certainly need this kind of support from all of us, no doubt. However middlemen are likely to exploit the shortage of supply due to slow manufacturing processes in this industry. There is a need to avoid this as the real beneficiaries in these situations aren't likely to be genuine weavers at all.

Dear All,

Excellent Sir, Handloom weavers needed a boost in the technology driven world. That also shows how Modi is pro farmers and impoverished people.

Can he revolutionise the farming and harvesting. May be he wants. But the idea has to come from IAS officials.
