Re: [MTC Global] Indian Council for Social Sciences Research- NO reasons given for rejection of a research proposal-

Dear Dr. Mruthyunjay and others,
Sorry, I could not follow yours and others mail some time due to my schedule.
Let me clarify why I quoted Gita.
due to corruption or other systemic problem, Madam was feeling helpless and disturbed. Her emotional energy was depleted with all these things. My focus in the mail was on restoring this energy with simple methods, possible in the mails. Gita would help us in this direction (western psychology calls it as cognitive humanistic therapy. One of the finest therapeutic method, we could use in our individual life, when we are feeling helpless or disturbed is the message of Gita). Once her energy is restored and she could take care of herself, that is our goal. At this time the priority is the person, who is affected than focusing on how the person got affected. It does not mean that she has to accept and obey all the injustice done by the system all the time.
The next thing is fighting with the system, It is her choice, only when she is ready physically and psychologically (otherwise it becomes a futile exercise).
Let us not be emotional. Fighting with the system is not so easy. At times, injustice is subtle and cannot be proved in the legal system.
I hope I had explained the way I understood your comments.
Waiting for further discussion,
Regards,

Dear Prof. Vijendra Kumar,

I appreciate your suggestions in this regard.

At the same time, I would request you not to misquote 'Bhagvat Gita'.

I strongly feel that if one does his/her duty perfectly, there is no reason to worry.

In this particular situation, it is also our duty to fight against corruptible practices at our level.
Rest should be left to God.

"Karmanye Vadhikarashte..." can not applied to the person who does his/her duty halfheartedly and shifts own mistakes to others or blames others.

I fully agree with Prof. Appalayya regarding the sorry state of affairs in ICSSR.
To some extent, I have experienced it myself.

Best regards,

Mrutyunjay Swain

Dear Jayashri Madam,
Sorry to hear that this time you became a laughing stock for which you are not responsible. During this time, you have Gita in hand:
Karmanye Vadhikarashte....
Do your duty. Not to think about results, which may not be in your hand.
This may not change the situation or condition. But provides you with unlimited energy and passion to continue your journey. And remember, the journey is tougher and tougher, which requires more and more calmness in mind and body. And finally you reach your destination.... the purpose of your life. When you reached there and looked back on your time line, this particular laughing stock situation would be really silly.. laughing stock!!
Take care.

Absolutely True Prof. Appalayya.

Recently, i.e., by April, i received a call from an Arts & Science College asking for my profile for including me in the panel of experts for an ICSSR project on Research Methodology. Again in few days time, as there were no further communications from the college, I followed this matter up with one of my colleagues who had recommended me and came to know, till last year, 2013 whatever projects they had applied for were funded properly, but recently including the one which is associating me, the funds are not released properly, so they are yet to confirm the project. The reason said is that the ICSSR Body is facing a huge financial crunch. What does it mean?

As you know very well, when i was asked my profile itself, i planned for leave and all other arrangements to be done in my institution for being present for the assignment. Listening to the details, my authorities here, wanted me also to organize such projects in our campus. But, it is cancelled. Now, all can imagine my position in my institution now...??!!

How to get rid of these imagery issues with which we are not only getting into personal issues but also spoiling our professional stand.

Requesting view to share...

With regards...

Indian Council of Social Sciences Research ( ICSSR) does not give reasons for rejection of a research proposal. It is a pointer to their lack of transparency in their approvals.

Their website is also dead and looks as if it has fallen into disrepair. Although icons are available for knowing the status of our proposal, nothing is uploaded. They look like dead organizations. I am afraid many of those on the board of ICSSR are left behind in technology and transparency.

Such dead organizations are enjoined to allot huge sums of public funds; what a damage to the nation???
