Position       :  Ruby-on-Rails Developer

Location      :  NYC, NY

Job Requirement 

·         Developer is responsible for designing, testing, maintaining and implementing in-house distributed n-tier software that delivers near real time globally distributed data with different formats to analytical platforms with zero tolerance.

 

Job Responsibilities

·         Write and maintain distributed n-tier software to deliver data to analytical platforms.

·         Deliver high-quality, scalable and maintainable software;

·         Support and troubleshoot issues (process and system) related and implements sustainable corrective actions.

·         Serve as subject matter expert in Ruby on rails.

·         Tuning and troubleshooting software performance issues.

·         Applying comprehensive business processes, application design and functional knowledge in problem resolution.

·         Leading and contributing to the development of new methods, procedures, processes or systems and understand the impact of these changes.

·         Developing and maintaining environmental standards and ensures adherence to those standards by the administration and development teams. Skill Set, education and experience requirements:

Job Requirement

·         Undergraduate or Graduate degree in computer science, or an equivalent level of technical experience required.

·         7+ years of experience in designing and developing n-tier application using Rails, JRuby, Node, J

·         5+ years of experience with Sass, CoffeScript, HTML5, Ajax, JSON, XML.

·         Experience in distributed programming.

·         Experience in User Interface Design.

·         Experience in Java or Perl a big plus.

·         Experience in OO design and design patterns.

·         Experience in creating automated build and test environment using RSpec, Maven/Ant, Junit, Selenium, Mocha, Bamboo/Jenkins, Git.

·         Experience in relational database design, optimization and performance with databases such as Oracle and Postgres.

·         Solid knowledge of linux / unix operating systems is required. Incumbent maintains effective communications and good relations with users, developers, computer operations and data security.
