About the college:
Jyoti Nivas College was founded by the sisters of St. Joseph's of Tarbes in 1966. It is one of the premier colleges in the country. It was granted autonomy in the year 2004 and for the third consecutive term was awarded "A" grade by National Assessment and Accreditation Council and in 2012 accredited with the highest CGPA of 3.7 on a scale of 4 by NAAC. The University Grants Commission conferred the college with the prestigious status of "College of Excellence" on April 2014 which makes JNC one of the top 10 Colleges in the Country and the only Women's College in Karnataka to have been conferred with this prestigious status.Since its inception, Jyoti Nivas College has remained steadfast to one central commitment to provide a balanced comprehensive education in many fields of literature, management and technology.The MBA Department of Post Graduate Centre is orgnaising public lecture on "Emerging Geopolitics in present day India" on 19th September 2015.
Theme of the Public Lecture:
In the start of this 3rd millennium few in Asia and fewer in India in particular, have heard about the subject of 'Geo-politics'. Great Game India will bring to the audience the amount of information that is true. One need to understand what was told to us earlier and taught to us here in India in terms of history, culture and in theory of warfare is rarely true. The selective revelations of many issues like economic plunder or cultural destruction or domestic native assassinations falls within the purview of a comprehensive subjective of study called "Geo-Politics".
A common misconception held by the Indian intelligentsia is that social sciences are not sciences in any meaningful sense of the term. Indeed, this misconception has in all likelihood been deliberately planted to prevent Indians from applying their intellects for the betterment of their social institutions. Indians have been led to believe that the dynamics of human society is so complex that it is futile to even make an attempt in this direction. Sadly, this is a far cry from the approach adapted to the teaching of History in India today, where a Macaulayan education system dumps thousands of irrelevant facts into young minds effectively resulting in mental constipation.
The lecture on "Emerging Geopolitics in Present day India" will show that it is possible to shift through the garbage heap of history to find the critical embers that have triggered its fires.
Topics that will be discussed for the day will be: Defense and security, Academic Scientific Research, Nuclear Proliferation and Intelligence Studies, Economic Issues, Environmental Agricultural Issues and on Social Physics.

Mr. G Raja Sekhar, is the owner of Great Game India Magazine. He has completed his B.Tech (Electronics and Communications) in JNTUA, Post Graduate Research scholar in Geopolitics and International Relations from Manipal University. His area of expertise is Counter Terrorism-Illegal Drugs-Arms Deals and Geo-strategic implications, Intelligence Gathering-ways trends doctrines future implications, Theory Practice containment of 2nd Generation Cyber War fare. Mr. Shelley Kasli, is the Director and Publisher of Great Game India Magazine. He has done his B. Tech (Information Technology) and Post Graduate in Product Service Systems Design from Politicnico Di Milano, Milan, Italy. He is a Business Consultant and Strategy Development, Independent Researcher in Strategic Security Studies, Social Sciences and Geo-Political Studies from Indian perspective.
