Re: [MTC Global] Subramanian Swamy calls JNU students, teachers ‘naxalite’

In the past, 1947-2014, I do not remember any criticism or public discussion regarding any appointment done by Govt. in any sector including education. All our ministers  are nominated by PM/CM without looking much about their academic qualifications or expertise, e.g., how many Defense Ministers could use the gun? How many education ministers were highly educated? Ours is a democratic system and even almost an illiterate person can be chief minister or say even PM or president of India.

The present issue is politically motivated. MTCG, I sincerely feel, needs to keep away from such discussion; my personal view. We all know the Indian tradition how the VCs are appointed, some of them were not even fit for the post of demonstrator! Then there is no point in  getting involved in such a discussion that is beyond our control. Yes, certainly we can build a pressure through other means like enlightening our students, improving their reasoning power, attitude, etc.  We as teachers need to pay respect to ministers and need not criticize them for their abilities/capacities/qualifications, etc.

Above is my personal view, made not to hurt anybody,If  somebody is hurt, I apologize for the same.

There is an Old English saying: Empty Vessels make more sound. So the adage is proved correct over the years...knowing fully that he is neither qualified nor fit for the post...he perhaps wanted to pre-empt making himself a laughing stock and hence the water mouth Swami rolled out the jibes. We all know the qualification of the HRD Minister...so the lesser said on the matter, the better.
