Job Title : Oracle DBA

Location : Sterling, VA

Duration : 6 Months

 

Skills and Knowledge:

 

·         Thorough understanding of the relational database model and solid theoretical knowledge of relational database techniques; skilled in ability to see the big picture and conceptualize and document creative solutions

·         Ability to design and implement backup and recovery of RDBMS under various failover and switchover events.

·         Excellent oral and written communications skills

·         Strong interpersonal skills at all levels of management and ability to motivate employees/teams to apply skills and techniques to solve dynamic problems; excellent teamwork skills

·         Ability to weigh various suggested technical solutions against the original business needs and choose the most cost-effective solution

·         Extensive knowledge of SQL, including programming and ways to optimize SQL code.

·         Demonstrated ability to drive solutions to completion

 

Experience:

 

·         Bachelor's degree or better in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline

·         5+ years in-depth experience in Oracle administration and support of Oracle Enterprise RDBMS

·         3+ years extensive experience in at least 3 of the following technologies: ASM, RAC, DataGuard

·         3+ years operating knowledge of various UNIX environments, specifically RedHat and AIX Golden Gate administration a plus
