[MTC Global] Comply with industry guidelines: UGC

INDORE: University Grants Commission (UGC) has directed varsities, including Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV), to ensure compliance of university-industry interaction guidelines in all departments of the varsity as well as affiliated colleges.

Media coordinator, DAVV, Prof Chandan Gupta said, "We have received the directives. We have been actively holding seminars and workshops to interact with industry and revise curriculum. Guidelines will be followed and affiliated colleges will also be intimated."

UGC has expressed significance of university-industry interaction stating it has become an important agenda of higher education on policy-making front at both national and international levels.

Active meeting and collaborations are mutually beneficial. "Participation of expertise available in the faculty of universities in offering consultancy services to industries and assisting their research and developmental work and participation of industries in placements and internships of students will increase employability," states the circular.

Considering the importance, UGC had framed guidelines for the scheme of establishing university-industry inter-linkage centres (UIL) in the universities.
