Network Engineer for a Top Business Intelligence Company in Billerica, MA

The Company:  A company known for providing business intelligence and analytics to healthcare facilities all over the country.  They are constantly improving their technology and value employees who are eager to work with changing technology.  Upward mobility is offered to eager, committed employees.

The Role: 

Candidate should have experience with medium sized networks (ideally 1000 plus users supported).  Should be great with Cisco firewall management, Cisco routers, and HP switches and Sonicwall for backup firewalls.

MAJOR PLUS: Intrusion (Cisco Firepower) experience a huge plus

• Design, maintain, and oversee policies and procedures and standard best practices.
• Manage and maintain security systems and software, including - firewalls, intrusion detection- systems, cryptography- systems, and anti-virus software.
• Administer Firewalls and VPN connections / troubleshooting.
• Administer routers, switches and appliances.
• Manage security and connectivity for LAN, web sites, intranet, and e-mail communications.
• Perform penetration testing.
• Reporting
• Recommend, schedule (where appropriate), and apply fixes, security patches, disaster recovery procedures, and any other measures required in the event of a security breach.
• Download and test new security software and/or technologies.
• Perform system backups. 
• Provide on-call security support to end-users.
• Manage and/or provide guidance to junior members of the team.

Education & Certification

• College degree or 5+ years in the field  
• 3+ years network security
• CCNA is desired

Knowledge & Experience

• Hands on experience with intrusion detection systems, antivirus tools and data-encryption
• Proficient f fundamental networking concepts, protocols such as: routing, STP, VLAN/PVLA, IP
• Extensive knowledge of Cisco firewalls and SonicWall
• Extensive experience with Cisco and HP routers and switches (Cisco IOS, NX-OS)
• Knowledge HIPAA, PCI and CMR 17
