Re: CJA-Cameroon Hail Nfon Mukete on Anglophone Question...to fortify front

If Mr. Mbeseha of all persons thinks that keeping Cameroun as it is, requires only that Biya and company listen to the chief ("Nfon") then one wonders what exactly is this Southern Cameroons struggle?  Really that the noise is about effecting the chief's (Nfon's) understanding of Cameroun bilingualism (address the children in English when in Kumba and in French when in Sangmalema)? Mr. Mbeseha, Biya and company did not listen to Foncha and Muna, much higher up on how Cameroun as it is, came about; the world did not end. What in the chief's approach to Cameroun bilingualism is so bewitching as to make them more apprehensive? Does Mr. Mbeseha and company think that all that makes for an "Anglo-Saxon university" is locating a public university to the West of the River Mungo (Buea and Bamenda)? It may surprise Mr. Mbeseha and company to know that some of us who faught for the GCE Board are not impressed by how the board has since not kept it's focus on the prize (that's another issue).

What does the CJA hope to accomplish by its recognitionb of the chief (Nfon)? Make the chief work harder in seeing through the chief's understanding of Cameroun bilingualism? The chief is presently attending a legislative session. Hopefully that session will result in legislative action in this regard, thanks to the chief. Hopefully the chief has since the Kumba "tantrum" been in touch at least with the the chief's senatorial counterparts from at least the North West and South West on presenting a united front on this to emerge practising biligualism legislation. Hopefully the chief and senatorial company from same have since reached out to the Members of Parliament from same on buy in on this united legislative front. It is equally hopeful that they as legislators have reached out to the occupant of the "Star Building" (the Prime Minister) given his decades of ambassaddorial experience in "bilingual" Canada. Short of this, the CJA is merely grandstanding on the chief's grandstanding on a "tantrum" on the fringe of the struggle. The substantive issue (the "Anglophone Way") in Kumba that day (though still on the fringe) was to ask why Mrs. Biya with no known inheritance is making people in Colonial Southern Cameroons beholden to her for the use of their tax money?

What exactly is the territorial basis of this Commonwealth Journalists Association (CJA)?  Is it the Southern Cameroons (not known to be a Commonwealth) or the Commonwealth of Nations led by colonial United Kingdom? What did the CJA find in the chief's "tantrum" that exceeds anything anyone has since done regarding "the struggle"? It is disturbing to the struggle to find how driven by frustration, heroes are made of nothingness. A mountain of nothingness will result in nothing by Jesus' Second Coming. Nothing personal intended against the the chief (Nfon) nor the CJA. Just recognizing distractions in the light of the hard road ahead.

The Commonwealth Journalists Association must be praised and encouraged for their present effort and future plans. It is never too late to correct an error. If each Professional Organization of the NW&SW came together and spoke with one voice, Yaounde will have no choice. The Common Law Lawyers started it a few months back. There will probably be no Anglo-saxon Universities in Buea and Bamenda today.  The GCE Board would probably never have been created  if the Teachers Association of Cameroon (TAC) had not stood its grounds as they did. If Yaounde cannot listen to people like Nfon Mukete who personal took part in some of the events that led to the so called Unification in 1961, then they are probably sealing the fate of the so called Cameroon as we know it. Other Professional Organizations and elected officials of the NW&SW should be encouraged to join the fight. That way Yaounde will understand that you can fool some people for some time but you cannot fool all the people all the time.

Acknowledging the wonderful efforts being mounted by Nfon Mukete (

parties, but one interest, the CJA observed that this language , the
English language has become an endangered species in Cameroun.
CJA -Cameroon thus resolved to henceforth mount the needed presure and
do what must be done to be besides their fathers and preserve the
hegemony and heritage that is theirs. CJA looks forward to other great
figures and bodies in West Cameroon to articulate this issue as is
doing Nfon Mukete and Hon Awudu. More on the reslutions in an official
statement coming up soonest.
