RE: [MTC Global] A major Indian city has been underwater for almost a month now

With the lack of systematic urban systems design in most Indian cities, there is always a disaster waiting to happen.

 

This one is caused by exceptional rain of course but cities are supposed to be built for the exceptional not the ordinary.

we have never seen such a rain in our life time  with out milk, telecommunication and proper basic facilities people at chennai are sitting with full of fear

All the tanks were closed and converted into plots!

The Strom water drains can not replace various drainage channels.

Urban hydrology in not studied by the town planners.

Climate change is not considered at all.

What is the result?

I  think  we  as  a  citizen  and  our  local  administration  is   also  responsible  for  this  problem  because  we  never  think  and  workout  for  these  natural  calamities.
