Title :  Sr. Linux System Engineer

Location : Los Angeles, CA

Duration : 6-12+ Months

The position is c2c  friendly and it's located in Los Angeles, CA. The contract is expected to last 1.5-2 years or more. At this point, I'm only entertaining local candidates for face to face. – there are a lot of Linux Systems Engineers in LA who can do this job.

 

 

Technical Qualifications

·         10+ years of experience in networking industry.

·         B.S (or higher) in computer science or equivalent.

·         Experience with Redhat Enterprise Linux 5.x - 6.5, Redhat Deployments using Kickstart installations, Redhat Clustering configuration and deployments

·         Experience with Oracle Linux 5.6 - 6.4 and Oracle RAC cluster technology

·         Cloud Computing: AWS, VMWare and Openstack

·         Network bonding and VLAN Trunking

·         Server platforms: Dell & HP rack and blade systems

·         Experience with the deployment and management of storage hardware:

o    3PAR, EMC, Isilon IQ, iDRAC configuration & management and NetApp NAS appliances

o    SAN hardware and technologies: EMC/Brocade, SAN Directors, Fibre-Attached storage, iSCSI, RAID levels and best practices

·         Linux administration to include networking, storage, multipathing configurations

·         Familiarity with:

o    NTP, DNS, NFS, Load Balancing

o    Fiber Channel zoning concepts

o    Brocade administration, NPIV & Access Gateway Mode

o    HTTP servers and understanding of content delivery/CDN integration

o    High Availability and Scalability Technology: Brocade Load Balancers, clustering software, auto-failover, Ethernet bonding
