Position            SQL Application DBA

Location            Austin, TX

Duration           12+ months

 

(Preferred Local Candidates)

 

(Rate is 48$/Hr)

Main Responsibilities :

 

• Installing and upgrading the database server and application tools

• Allocating system storage and planning future storage requirements for the database system

• Modifying the database structure/ Schema Changes, as necessary, from information given by application developers

•         Need experience in the following:

•         500 GB Database ( if someone has 300-400 DB)

•         Managed Enterprise Applications, 300+ GB

 

• Enrolling users and maintaining system security

• Controlling and monitoring user access to the database

• Monitoring and optimizing the performance of the database

• Maintaining archived data • Backing up and restoring databases • Generating various reports by querying from database as per need • Creating/ Update/ Review – SQL Application Queries • Data Mapping

 

Skills Required:

• Skills and Tools required for Microsoft SQL Server 2012:

Management Tools – Management Studio, SQL Profiler, SQL CMD, SQL Agent, Tuning

Programmability & Development Tools – T-SQL Queries (DML, DDL, TCL), SQL Data Tools o Security Any experience with SQL Development is a huge plus

 

– User, Roles, Auditing o High Availability – Database Backup & Restore, Log Shipping, o Scalability and Performance –

Indexing, Partitioning o RDBMS Manageability

– PowerShell Scripting, Performance Report, Index Maintenance o Integration Services

– Configuration, Import

– Export, SSIS Designer, Data Profiling, Transformation o Reporting Services – Report Server Configuration • Data Modeling – Erwin (CA) and/or ErStudio (Embarcadero) • Microsoft Office 2013 – Word, Excel, Visio • Apache Subversion (SVN) - Versioning and Revision Control System • Environment:

 

Optional Skills:

• SQL Server 2012 – Replication, Analysis services • Certification – MCDBA or MCSA
