Even if buying the fabric is an obligation, it should apply only to children of la Republique du Cameroun. Southern Cameroons parents should start learning to ignore what a foreign government wants them to do. It is time we start making people of la Republique du Cameroun feel that we have something on our minds. Youth day does not in any way honour,us, because it is the day we voted to enslave ourselves, our country.

Any teacher or principal that will dare send any of my children home for want of the criminal fabric should be ready to face the music when the time comes. Must children west of the mungo participate in this nonsense?

What sense does it make celebrating the so called Youth Day without teaching the children and even some of their adult parents what the day stands for.Why is 11th February celebrated in the first place? A country that is ashamed of its history does not need to celebrate it.

Hello Everybody,

Greetings from Yaounde Cameroon.

The idea of the youthday fabric was not introduced by the government. It was introduced by some business minded Cameroonians who wanted to draw a parralel with the womanday fabric.

The Minister of Family promotion lashed out that families already have great problems with the womanday fabric being a source of family squabbles, and she will not allow a fresh, brand new source and venue for family disputes to be introduced in Cameroon.

It was therefore officially announced on CRTV Radio, Wednesday 13 January 2016, that THE YOUTH DAY FABRIC IS NOT AN OBLIGATION.

On a personal note, I will NOT buy the fabric for any child under my care. The child will not march? not take part in youthday activities? So be it. I wonder what youth palaver is in this youthday.

Question : Must the children march? What are they celebrating, anyway? Hopelessness and helplessness?

This is the most official, government-led 419 scam that there is! What a shame for Yaounde to staging such a holdup on parents! The only regret Yaounde must have on milking every parent is the fact that they cannot also oblige the parents of the millions of youth they do not have in schools to buy the fabric.

PARENTS CRITICIZE GOVERNMENT'S INTRODUCTION OF '11 FEBRUARY' FABRIC
Just like the wearing of fabrics during Women's Day celebration on 8 of March every year, the Government of Cameroon through the Ministry of Youths Affairs and Civic Education has introduced the 11 February or Youth Day fabric beginning this February 2016.
Parents have criticized government for introducing the fabric which cost between 6500Fcfa ($11) and 2300Fcfa ($4)
