Enterprise Information Architect

The Enterprise Information Architect is responsible for guiding the research, planning, definition, refinement and implementation of the enterprise information architecture for all university enterprise systems.  This position ensures, via plans, policies, principles, models, standards, technologies, and processes that information is treated as a strategic asset whereby the integration of data can deliver value and help align business priorities and technology.  The Enterprise Information Architect establishes the architecture and frameworks that facilitate access to and flexible sharing and exchange of enterprise information. 

Specific Responsibilities

• Formulates business plans, including business drivers, goals and objectives, to steer the organization's design, implementation, and enhancement of an enterprise information architecture;
• Develops and builds consensus for a strategic vision and roadmap for the organization to identify and prioritize information architecture projects and investments, consistent with the business strategies, which includes information governance policies and processes for the management and use of information;
• Defines information principles that express the beliefs and philosophies of the organization in terms of how it will view and treat information; 
• Identifies standards (what goes where, what means what, and who is allowed to do what) and frameworks (how information flows and is stored/secured) as necessary to achieve the envisioned information structure;
• Directs the development of various models (e.g. data, process, metrics/measures, object based) to present the abstractions that make up the information structure;
• Evaluates and recommends potential technologies ' tools, hardware and software ' to accomplish the organization's information management goals; 

Minimum Qualifications

• Ten years of experience in the following: architecting enterprise information architecture, strategies and roadmaps, and providing business, governance and technical recommendations; analyzing inter-relationships between various domains of enterprise information including master data, meta data, operational data, unstructured data and analytical data;

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science or related field, or the equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired;
• Understanding of common information architecture frameworks and information models including The Open Group Architecture Framework(TOGAF), information maturity model, Information as a Service(IaaS) and Service Oriented Architecture(SOA);
• Experience in database technologies, MDM technologies, Master Data Management(MDM), Business Intelligence, data warehousing, IT System integration and Enterprise Information Integration;
• Experience in requirements definition, mapping and gap analysis;
