RE: [MTC Global] JNU tops the NAAC

Dear Dr. Singh,

Greetings,

Nothing has gone wrong with JNU. Only few anti-social and anti-national elements (who happen to be JNU students) have been identified and action being taken against them.

Let's not generalize and try to create a mountain out of a molehill. There is no FIR against the university but againt few students. Please allow the law to take its own course. The law enforcement agencies can't be mute spectators to the sloganeering by terror sympathisers and Pakistan loyalists. India has paid enough price for being a soft democracy and can't afford any more.

How many more deaths, we want in Siachen and how many more civilians we want to die because of the so called Kashmir freedom struggle? Those who are opposed to the idea of one nation, they should surrender their citizenship and take shelter in other countries which are favourable for them. But staying in India and working for It's disintegration is nothing less than sedition. So let the JNU pseudo intellectuals get the hospitality of police and face the music of the legal system.

We, academicians should be non partisan. It's our nation and one nation irrespective of no of parties and ideologies we may have. The idea of one nation is non-negotiable. Let them have different ideologies but not an ideology which favours the sentiment of partition or threatens the nationhood. JNU is one of the premier institutions and it will continue to do so. So let's not create any fear psychosis where none exists.

Regards

K.P.MISHRA

Dear all,

JNU is definitely one of the best,  if not the  best, educational institution of the country.

The bogey of patriotism is a deliberate attempt by vested interests to malign the institute. Few students or outsiders making anti national slogans should have  been identified and taken to task as per law of the land and not branding the whole institution as anti national, sparing the country of the current divisive surge.

There is so much falsehood and crafted misinformation being spread all around on social media  to spread hatred. This is  also anti national activity.

The society is again so much  polarized during last two  weeks, which is not definitely desirable.

India is multicultural society and we should respect each others sensibilities for national integrity.

Last two weeks events at JNU, Patiala Court and in Haryana have confused many people about nationalist and anti national activities and people's so different responses to them.

NAAC accreditation presents a quantitative  assessment for such parameters as space, head counts, results, placement, infrastructure, etc., and hardly takes care of value generation like loyalty to the country, outcome contributing to society and nation, etc.  It means NAAC assessment cannot be a complete and acceptable  assessment of any institute. Under our culture, therefore, it is not desirable and scientific to co-relate NAAC score with the other social/national values expected to be inculcated by our education system.

The National assessment and accreditation council(NAAC) is the body that assesses and grades higher education institutions in India. The assessment iClydesdale Institutional Social Responsibility. The top 3 universities in India (including both Private and Public institutions) according to NAAC are:

1. Jawaharlal National University (JNU) with a score if 3.91/4
2. Hyderabad Central University (HCU) with a score of 3.78/4
3. Jadhavpur University with a score of 3.68/4

A study says that JNU contributes 11% of the total Civil services cadre. If indeed JNU is anti- national or infiltrated by sleeper cells, by extension even our government is infiltrated.

JNU is a place of excellence. University administration must be strong enough to curb unwanted activities in the campus. There is no need to anybody getting inside to arrest the situation.
