Job Description :

Role : Build and Release Engineer

Location : El Segundo, CA

Duration : 6+ months (typically renews twice to equal 18 months)

Local face to face

Client is looking for a software configuration management and build release engineer to take a STB (Set Top Box) release system to the next level.

EXPERIENCE WITH PYTHON IS A MUST!

Responsibilities:

· Establish and enhance best practice CM standards, practices, processes, templates, policies and procedures

· Enhance and redesign our core build process in order to support rapid improvement and innovation

· Support the continuous building of the product release and play a critical role in verifying and executing of automated and manual builds

· Manage production build servers and build environments of build systems

· Develop build scripts and tools for builds, using Shell script, Python or Perl

· Manage the source control such as check-in/check-out, branching and tagging activities

· Research CM technology based on needs and to integrate the CM technology with current environment

Qualifications:

· 8+ years of progressively responsible experience as configuration management and build release engineer

· 8+ years of experience developing and implementing CM standards, practices, processes, templates, policies and procedures

· 6+ years of experience with scripting and programming languages such as python and Unix shell (bash, csh) script; and Perl is a plus

· Experience working with a Unix/Linux command line to perform SCM duties

· Familiar with CM tools, code bases under CVS, Mercurial, Git and knowledge of bug tracking systems

· Ability to effectively and accurately perform detail and process-oriented CM tasks in a fast-paced development environment

· Knowledge of MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

· Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required; advanced degree preferred
