Re: Easter tears, let us cry.

Dear Community,

There is a common say in pidgin parlance.  If you see some person d over cry for die house,  then da person d cry e own problem.

This is actually what  happened to me recently.

A couple came to my office for routine check up following a cardiac intervention.
Husband sustained a heart attack in 2013. He made good progress after revascularisation. And was  advised to quit cigarette smoking.

Wife sustained a heart attack in 2014  and also recovered uneventfully.  Was also advised to stop smoking.

Unfortunaely, their 31yr old son  lone son died on the operation table following a massive heart attack last year. I had no idea  about this until when I saw the couple  in clinic.

During consultation , I was frustrated that they are yet to give up smoking.  Upon direct questioning both couple admitted that they don't care about life and are both keen to continue  with cigarette smoking.

This is definitely a statement from   someone in difficulty. I went further and pressed hard , why, such a remark. They pair look at each other and went into themselves crying and holding each other.

I called for helped from the nursing staff to help me comfort the couple. A few minutes later ,  they said to us that they as parents have survived a heart attack . And that their only son died following a heart attack . They are devastated  and in pains.

I joined them in crying. And my cry  was more intense and protracted. I suddenly realised that they were the ones   comforting  and begging me to stop crying.

In fact I was crying for Perry. And I am still crying.

Happy Easter , and let us pray for them.
