I feel mental calculation abilities and understanding of Profit and Loss will make a person better employee but it is essential for a self employed person.

Subject: Re: [MTC Global] [Weekend Big Debate -I] Employability Skill is a big hype!
Dear Sir, I tend to believe that what we call as employability skills are a must have for
anybody as I find that these skills will help self employment most. These are:
1. Communication Skills 2. Selling and Negotiation skills, 3. Number skills, 4.
Information management skills 5. Work and Time Planning skills 6. Self Improvement
Skills. Given these skills one can not only get a job but also keep one. I think that
many of them can be acquired by anyone from a conducive environment and thru' peer to
peer contact. Formal programs may facilitate the learning speeds but the learner need to
be aware of the skills and their importance in getting a job.
Best Regards,

Employability Skill is a big hype. What job skill sets required today changes so fast.
Even employers can not predict what skill sets they require one year from now.
What is more important is college to develop analytical skills, problem solving skills,
decision making skills, communication skills etc among students and not just job specific
skills.
All the above skills can be imparted through innovative curriculum to the students.
