Role: DBA (Oracle PL/SQL experience must and will be trained on DBA)
Exp: 6 years
Location: Bloomfield, CT
Strong working experience in Oracle PL/SQL
Good Healthcare Domain knowledge
Bachelors' degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
- - At least 6 years of recent experience designing, developing, deploying, and supporting computing applications in a large-scale, environment as a Software Developer.
- Experience in database related development activities
- Ability to perform detailed analysis of business problems and technical environments.
- - Strong oral and written communication skills.
- - Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
- - Proven track record of success in challenging the status quo, implementing new ideas and designs with a practical orientation.
- Migrates database code across multiple test environments.
- Develops and supports automated data migration routines.
- Maintains the database source control environment in Liquibase
- Creates / maintains user ids in all non-production environments
- Assists developers with DDL / DML requests
- Reviews database code and recommends performance enhancements.
- Troubleshoots database issues.
- Works on multiple projects simultaneously, which span multiple application releases.
- Work with peers and application developers to understand, test, and implement new ORACLE functionality.
- Constantly looks for process improvement opportunities
- Proactively builds and manages strategic relationships across Clinical IT and other support areas
- within Cigna.
- Provides off-hour support as needed (Average 10% off-hour work - higher concentration required
- near release dates).
- Solid experience with Oracle PL/SQL
- Solid experience with Oracle DBA Version 11g+
- Experience with UNIX Scripting
- Experience with data architecture (indexing, statistics, data structures, etc.)
- Experience with data modeling
- Experience with user provisioning
- Knowledge of automation concepts
- Requires excellent planning, conceptual, consulting, analytical ability and logical thinking.
- Comfortable with multitasking and working in a matrix environment
- Ability to work as part of a high performance team in a fast paced environment.
- Strong customer focus, continuous learning, strong technical aptitude, self-motivated
- Desired, but not required:
- Oracle XML types (xpath, xquery, xsd)
- LOB management
- Data migration – imports / exports
- Software Architecture background
- Data warehousing concepts
