Title : DB2 DBA

Location – Washington, DC

Duration – 9+ Months

Interview Process – 1st Phone Interview / 2nd Face to Face interview (No Skype)

Skills:

1. 3 – 5 years of hands-on DB2 UDB experience in an AIX environment
2. Realistic, practical, real world database administration skills/experience
3. Experience reviewing SQL to address performance problems
4. Strong Unix skills
1. Command line processing
2. Reading, writing, executing, troubleshooting user scripts
5. Microsoft Office experience in, at a minimum, Outlook, WORD, Excel
6. Comfortable receiving instructions from lead DBA and then working independently
7. The internal drive, intellectual curiosity, ability to learn, and desire to help the customers succeed
8. Strong technical skills
9. Comfortable working under Project Manager supervision
10. Ability to work proactively
11. Experience, from a database perspective, dealing with Websphere Application Sever, HTTP Server, MQSeries and Cognos
12. Understanding of database backup processes and recovery processes
13. Experience with Q-Replication
14. Experience in Performance monitoring/testing COGNOS applications
15. Experience with DPF (Data Partitioning Facility). This is physical partitioning, not logical partitioning (Range Partitioning)

Software:

1.      DB2 LUW on AIX

2.      Unix scripting

3.      Microsoft Suite

4.      EMC DDBoost familiarity
