8+ yrs exp testing infrastructure, servers, network and storage - Configuration Validation
Ensure and advise: Broad direction, supervisory, objective setting responsibility. Influences organization. Challenging and unpredictable work. Self sufficient in business skills. Ensure that deployed Releases and the resulting services meet customer expectations, and verify that IT operations is able to support the new service. Promotes and ensures use of appropriate techniques, methodologies and tools.
Responsibilities:
Coordinates and manages planning of the system and/or acceptance tests within a development or integration project or program. Takes responsibility for integrity of testing and acceptance activities and coordinates the execution of these activities. Provides authoritative advice and guidance on any aspect of test planning and execution. Defines and communicates the test strategy for the project. Manages all test processes, including test plans, resources, costs, timescales, test deliverables and traceability. Manages client relationships with respect to testing matters. Identifies process improvements, and contributes to corporate testing standards and definition of best practice.
Required Experience:
8+ years of relevant exp
Comprehensive understanding and experience with Functional Testing, Integration Testing, System Testing.
Experience validating the quality of the infrastructure deployment and configuration.
Experience in a DevOps environment.
Basic understanding of Agile/SCRUM/Waterfall software development methodology and process
Excellent attention to detail; must be able to meticulously analyze documentation and applications to ensure quality.
Ability to be proactive, prioritize, and work under tight deadlines with flexibility and changing priorities
Professional written and verbal communication skill.
Demonstrated ability to: Identify and investigate issues and proactively seek solutions, Exercise independent initiative, Maintain accuracy and quality while meeting goals and deadlines, Work in a highly interactive team environment, Can accept and act upon constructive criticism.
Experience working in a 24/7 transactional enterprise environment where zero downtime is the expectation, rather than the exception.
Education: Prefers a 4 year degree
Prefers ITIL/ISO 2000 certifications

As usual, a variety but most likely a bunch of new server builds – windows and unix platforms for the most part.
• Are you looking for someone with a strong background in Automation testing?
Yes, that would be nice.
•What skillset are looking for? Configuration validation. This is testing infrastructure, servers, network, storage…it's not the same as testing applications and we have had a hard time finding ANYONE that does this. Even vendors to come onsite and help get us started.
•Top 3 skills to be successful in this role:
Strong communication to be able to pull info from build team to write scripts
Understanding of server build automation and how to validate configuration accuracy
