Re: [MTC Global] [Weekend Big Debate- I] Further digitisation of Education should be discouraged.

Dear Sir

Any new technology creates fear and so is digitisation of education.

Digitisation is not deskilling teachers rather is a global phenomenon of availability of information to all. If we examine it from students perspective it is enabling them with the information they need and applying it in their respective field. Perhaps this is the aim of education also so as faculties we need to encourage the phenomenon and try to exploit it to our advantage.

Many Educationists do not T subscribe to the notion that further "digitisation of education" is a trend to be encouraged. To great extend their views are substantial when we talk about such  neoliberal approach which emphasizes the deskilling of teachers, the commodification of curriculum, the commercialization of research, the ideological suppression of creativity and critical thinking and the overall degradation of "education."

But the way the technology is reshaping the education space, we are not sure what would be the future of education in next 10 years.

It would interested to have the views of esteemed MTCians.
