Role: Java Developer
Duration: Above 6 months
Location: Brooklyn, NY 11201

 

Only Local Candidates with GC/EAD-GC/USC

 

SCOPE OF SERVICES 

·                     Develop all Java/J2EE components to meet business requirements and in accordance with industry best practices, DoITT standards, and Citywide security policies.

·                     Provide technical expertise, estimates, and recommendations to the Development Lead and project management.

·                     Participate in the development of system design.

·                     Develop presentation layer components. 

·                     Communicate risks and issues to the Development Lead.

·                     Participate in requirements discussions and meetings as necessary.

·                     Conduct Unit Testing, supporting Quality Assurance.

 

MANDATORY SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:

·                     A minimum of 8 years of experience in Java/J2EE development building enterprise web portal applications.

·                     Experience in MVC and using other design patterns.

·                     Strong experience working with Oracle Web Center Suite or a similar Portal .

·                     Experience working with JSR-168 and JSR-286 portlets.

·                     Experience with relational database such as Oracle, MS SQL Server or MySQL.

·                     Experience with BEA WebLogic (9.x and 10.x) and JBoss EAP 5.x+.

·                     Strong experience with AJAX using JQuery or other frameworks.

·                     Knowledge of Spring and Hibernate.

·                     Experience with Ant.

·                     Experience with Web Services development.

·                     Experience with testing tools and techniques such as JUnit and continuous integration.

·                     Experience in HTML, Javascript and CSS.

·                     Knowledge of secure coding standards and best practices.

·                     Must be a team player.

·                     Must be able to see tasks through to completion without significant guidance.

·                     Must take initiative, and show confidence in decisions made.

 

DESIRABLE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

·                     A Bachelor's or Master's degree in MIS or Computer Science is desired

·                     Experience in any content management system (TeamSite preferred)

·                     Good communication skills

·                     Experience using standard project tools including Microsoft Project, Excel, and PowerPoint.
