Subject:The need to RE-SET the emancipation quest at the platform of POWER: Adopt as recommended our very own distinctive nationalism and identity politics and see pan-Cameroonism flee at the same time independence arrives

A reposting with some time adjustment editing !

Previously posted in June 15-2010 to urge that we speed up our emancipation quest whose wheels have been moving rather VERY SLOWLY. Thankfully as always, complying to this can be done almost IMMEDIATELY if we RESOLVE to  put aside all OLD arguments, (valid and invalid), all personalities and EGOS stroking politickings, our real ethnic and regional values and those non value added, time-delaying, distraction engendering stickler of PROTOCOLS and simply adopt a new political posture as long ago recommended by all political experts! That indestructible all-purpose, ever ready unifying and immunizing PRE-INDEPENDENCE mentality we must have in this sub region to survive!

This pre-independence mentality (mindset) should be one that seeks to recover our lost independence with only one thing in mind: SECURE AND MAINTAIN THE LATENT POWERS THAT WAS DUE TO US AS A SOVEREIGN STATE OF 1960!

------------- begin excerpt----

Fellow Ambazonians!

We are a people who have been called several names in the course of our history by people who would careless about our best interest! The last of these names being one which referred to us as "Anglophones Cameroonians" and or “Southern Cameroonians” Whatever, that why we are today the only United Nations Trust Territory of Class-B category to not have achieved our due rights of independence. Even the tiny Island of Palau, a UN Class-C [Strategic Territory under US Administration] achieved independence in 1996 as prescribed in its UN Statutes.

**** Some food for thought to dispel the myth that since it happened to Palau or to Kosovo or to East Timor or to South Sudan it will happen to us****

In all the above cases, one thing was common: they assume full responsibility of their liberation struggle and made very CONSCIOUS efforts at differentiating themselves from their oppressors at the same time they united in the quest to seek and maintain power. They did not seek to blame other as part of their political strategy.

NONE OF THESE WE HAVE DONE. INSTEAD, WE TEND TO BLAME THE UNITED NATIONS AND THE UNITED KINGDOM FOR OUR DEMISE INSIDE CAMERRON TODAY. WE CONTINUE TO DODGE RESPONSIBILITY OF OUR DEMISE IN CAMEROON TODAY BY OUR CURRENT POSTURE OF POLITICAL DIVISIVENES, APARTY AND RESIGNATION. WE SHOULD LEARN FROM HISTORY: TO BE WEAK IS TO DIE IN THIS OUR WORLD OF SAVAGE REAL POLITIC AND THIS VERY HISTORY IS WHERE OUR STRENGHT RESIDES. IT CLEARLY PROVIDES US EVIDENCEF THAT WE ARE NEITHER WEAK NOR ARE WE CAMEROONIANS OF WHATEVER CARDINALITY. THE CHOICE IS OURS NOW TO CHOOSE BETWEEN THE SERVITUDE OF POWERLESSNESS IN PAN-CAMEROONIA OR STAND OUR GROUND IN THE PRE-INDEPENDENCE ARENA AS AMBAZONIANS WHO HAVE COMSCIOUSLY RESETED THE EMANCIPATION PLATFORM BECAUSE THINGS CAN NOT BE ALLOWED TO JUST DFIRT ALONH.

--As the victim of the most savage form of Neo-colonization-- an unprecedented free range rabid type totally unconstrained by any laws -international nor domestic;
--To be able to recover our senses and carve out a consciously driven liberation strategy from this now incorrigibly proven evil pre-deterministic pan-Cameroon ideology;
--To assume full responsibility of our lives that should begin with accepting the reality we are not going to be exempted from the rules of survival one of which allows that some mistakes made by man must be “timely” corrected or be doomed into perpetual misery.

And with full understanding of our history, our responsibility of survival and our obligation to preserve these “SURVIVAL PRE-REQUISITES” for our children born and yet to be born, means, we must unequivocally be resolved to adopt and publicized to the "whole wide world" the following:

-We must clearly "differentiate" ourselves from the colonizing Cameroonian state who we should all admit have done very well in their pre deterministic quest to "assimilate" us at any cost, by our universally known and accepted identity of AMBAZONIA.

-As a consequence, we would be consciously imbuing in this our differentiation strategy the element of "integration" of a one united AMBAZONIA, aware that these forces must be of a far STRONGER one than the colonizer's intent on holding to its colonization by dividing us.

Note that while the above two forces can not just be left to operate on the hazards of chance as has been our legacy. There must be a deliberate and conscious program of reinstalling nationalism from the grassroots so that our people get to know WHO THEY ARE at the same time they get to know WHAT THEY MUST WANT. It is well past time to bury that our well known penchant for opportunistic politics of deferment and probabilities in favor or our new polity of CONSCIOUS ENGAGEMENT in the art of taking full responsibility for our demise inside pan-Cameroonian and act accordingly!

We must as a matter of our strategic survival appreciate "PRE-DERTERMINISTIC POLITICS" as a source of latent power we must always have on our side. The odds are already stacked high against us in this fight between the colonized and the colonizer, reason why we should never engage the colonizer as we have been doing since 1960 -- as that ethnically divided and conquered people. In this pre-independence theater, we will seek to “consciously” change our odds by engaging Cameroon as the united and sovereign people of AMBAZONIA! Ofcourse, at this juncture, the facts of our case which the colonizer do not want the world to know will become more easily apparent to anyone who wants to know! We are the former United Nations Trust Territory of the Southern Cameroons under United Kingdom Administration [our official name circa 1946]: a people who as per UN Article 76(b) were supposed to have automatically ascended into independence as a sovereign state in 1960 when the UN Trusteeship was terminated but for both the domestic and international geo-political plots and intrigues of the time. For the last 60 years and counting, by not uniting to halt pan-Cameroonism, we became increasingly vulnerable to adopting that our proverbial powerless divisive ethnic and regional politics than our best odds at acquiring power rest: our unique nationalism at the level of our distinct sovereign state!

As for the colonizing Cameroon state and its pan-Cameroonian promoters, their having no opposition since time immemorial embolden and enabled them to arrogantly promote an accelerated “assimilation-at-all-cost” agenda into becoming a pervasive psychological tool of oppression when "he art of basic living" has become the Hobsonian choice our people must live with as CAMEROONIANS!

OUR COMMITMENT TO RESET THE EMANCIPATION QUEST INTO THE PRE INDEPENDENCE ARENA IS AN ACT OF SELF-DETERMINATION TO GRANT REAL CHOICE TO OUR PEOPLE WHO HAD NEVER HAD ONE.. THE 1961 PLEBISCITE WAS A FARCE THAT SHOULD HAVE NEVER TAKEN PLACE. IF THE REASON FOR OUR DEMISE IN CAMEROON -- PAN CAMEROONISM -- MUST BE CONFRONTED AND DEFEATED OUR PEOPLE HAVE TO KNOW THEY ONCE HAD INDEPENDENCE BUT LOST IT THANKS TO THEIR LEADERS POLITICAL NAIVETE!

We should no longer think we are a "unique" case to be granted exempted from the rules of engagement! Yes indeed, really very bad things have happened to good people in other parts of the world and ours is just in that long list.

Why can't we just imitate what works? Remember the mantra of the three "I"s?
*we do not need to re-invent the wheel: we can always "imitate" something that is already working;
*from here, we can seek adjustment and improvement: we must "innovate" from this initiative
*obviously aware that our environment is a competitive one; we must not rest on our laurels as we seek to “invent” entirely new ways of doing things.

The laws of our universe always work whenever any of these value-added action are applied. Let's keep aside our hubris and learn a thing or two from the colonizer-- Cameroon. Cameroon has more than succeeded in it's "psychological" offensive of "assimilation in the face of integration"!  This manifest itself in all facets of our lives simply fro the shear force of the dominant "pan-Cameroonian" culture. One which we (the victims of colonization) have indeed been its most ardent promoters; sometimes knowingly, sometimes unknowingly!

Here is a litmus test for us all to take to understand just how sedimented and powerful the force of pan-Cameroonism had become today.

QUESTION:
Would supporting say the Cameroon's soccer world Cup pursuits of any significance in with "pan-Cameroonism"?
ANSWER:
Yes since everything [real or perceived] counts when fighting oppression as the minority system, not to mention fighting the "pre-deterministic pan-Cmeroon ideology which have so methodically and psychologically penetrated all fabric of our society. When you support "anything" Cameroonian, you have just voted for the maintenance and perpetration of the dominant Cameroon system at your own peril! Soccer, Makassa and Booze (the three effective hallucinogens) included!

As for us (the victim of Cameroon's colonization), we have no choice but to continuously define, refine and promote to the maximum extent, our very own CONSCIOUSLY driven tactic of seeking "integration in the face of differentiation". This must be the basis of our survival and propagation as the DISTINCT people of Ambazonia.
--We are a people who by virtue of our history and colonial heritage over a very long period of time are endowed with the naturally unifying “anglophonic” culture.
--We are a people whose budding nationalism in this Mid West Central African Sub region, was circumscribed by a territory with indisputably clearly defined “boundaries" sanctioned by “international treaties.
--And as such, we are a people who qualified then in 1960 just as Nigeria did to achieve independence simply upon the fulfillment of UN Article 76(b) – when the UN Trusteeship was terminated. on the midnight of September 30 1960 the UN Trust Territory called in its abridge form as ‘The British Southern Cameroons” became an independent state.

THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN SO HAD WE AS EXPECTED IN THIS HOSTILE REGION ADOPTED THE DIFFERENTIATING ELEMENTS OF IDENTITY POLITICS.  EVERYONE EXCEPT US ADOPTED IDENTITY POLITICS. IN DOUBT GO ASK THE CENTRAL AFRICANS OR GABONESE IF ANYONE FROM FREN H CAMEROON WENT THERE TO CAMPAIGN FOR REUNIFICATION OF THE ONCE GRAND GERMAN KAMERUN? We continued and have continued to accept whatever “identity” was assigned to us as we naively called ourselves “SOUTHERN CAMEROONIANS” at the same time, pan-Kamerun ultra-nationalists as Um Nyobe and Co, with irredentist designs, were plotting against our very sovereignty with the guise of being our “Brother-from-the East’!

We must accept that we failed woefully to represent our best self-interest and reverse this slide into the damnation of pan-Cameroonia by RE-SETTING THE EMANCIPATION QUEST through the process of adopting our unique pre-independence idenity.

This is how we will ensure that our commitment to redesigning a new liberation strategy that puts premium on countering the resident pan-Cameroonian psychology will be an irreversible one. This is also how we will detonate into the psychology of our emancipation quest that ALL-PURPOSE anti-assimilation intuitive response system, (albeit belatedly) as a new value system to drive the struggle! As of today we have to admit that the emancipation quest is drifting rudderless in the stormy seas of pan-Cameroonia!

THERE CAN BE NO OTHER OPTION, UNLESS OFCOUSE SOMEONE WAS TO PROVIDE CONCLUSIVE EVIDENCE THAT CAMEROON HAS SUDDENLY MORPHED INTO BEING LIKE CANADA! Our detractors will try to deny us this time tested source of power –our unique identity—by coming up with all sorts of tangential arguments and when that fails as usual, slow us down with pretentious support, fear dissemination and stickler for protocols ad nauseam. We have been there and done that and survived the usual 72 hours of heated internet euphoria by relapsing into our usual semi-comatic state of political apathy. Why bother when the last “politics of probabilitic” expectation did not materialized! We should break this vicious cycle by adopting IDENTITY politics predicated upon the people’s power of nationalism.

Therefore in this our "pre-independence" era, one where the greatest requirement demanded from us emancipationist is to get ORGANIZE, what much easier way exist if we continue to deny the realities of our history?

We have to reject that endless personality-ego driven POLITICKINGS that seem to think we already have our country and should be pandering for constituent parliamentary politics! The singular goal in this "pre-independence" arena should be to seek and refine our single best option given our time and place resources – given our relative power!. This will require clear minds that understand our weaknesses as well as our strengths. The basis of which starts with this reality that even if as of now we are a powerless people, we will immediately introduce power into the course once we adopt IDENTITY politics

Question:
What can be said to be the problem we face in this region today?

Answer:
Short answer.  We are not the independent sovereign state we were supposed to be!

But unfortunately, if we do not "know who we are (Ambazonians seeking to integrate in the face of differentiation)  and if we do not know what we want (independence as the distinct people of Ambazonia and not as Southern Cameroonians),  we can not be expected to offer an answer that will be consistent with our best self-interest!

This is the primary reason why today CONFUSION reigns unchecked!

More reason why we in the Diaspora should take very seriously our very special historic role! One which we should long ago have acted upon as the "spearhead" of our emancipation quest by ridding it of all politics (from politics of personalities to politics of probabilities) as we seek only to refine our BEST option! The only competition should be to maximize EXCELLENCE in this single pursuit. This will assist the goal of denying anymore advances of that resident Cameroon pre-determinism ideology! This would be no longer a speculative matter since by creating our own countervailing force in the "Ambazonian pre-determine identity and nationalism", pan-Cameroonism will finally have met its match --it's Waterloo so to speak!

It will be from this now sanitized universe where POWER will be methodically assembled! POWER WE MUST HAVE TO REGAIN OU LOST INDEPENDENCE! There is no reason for anyone to doubt this “resetting strategy” unless they are in denial that as of now true Cameroonians has all the powers. These are people just as ourselves in ever regard but for the fact that they have been more ORGANIZED than us, somehow found a way to re-colonize us and today have control over our destiny! The much scripted "white man's” colonization eventually met its natural end because the black people within their territories were united in the DECOLONIZATION struggle of the 1950s and 1960 which led to their freedom! From my last check FREEDOM HAS NO COLOR and its lack thereof produces same coefficient of oppression. Reason for the entire emancipation quest to consider pan-Cameroonism their number one enemy which can not be conquered unless we fight it with an equally powerful and predictable countering ideology predicated on identity.

The only requirement is that we get ORGANIZE! We can not get organized by being the most coveted medium in which pan-Cameroonism is today disseminated! Deny it or not, this happens whenever we call ourselves "Southern Cameroonians".

The pre-independence identity and nationalism of the name AMBAZONIA will immediately solve this Achilles Heels of our struggle.!

Let's all take full responsibility for our demise inside pan-Cameroonia as well as of our COMMON destiny to be free from this oppression! Reason why we must as "publicly" and as demonstratively as we can, be RESOLVED to get organized under the unifying mantle of the identity and nationalism of Ambazonia. This name, even though  it has been accepted by the emancipation, still needs the stamp and blessings of an OFFICIAL CONFERENCE so the world know we have finally arrived as the UNIFIED AMBAZONIAN PEOPLE. Remember the ever sustaining values of the three "I"s and do not waste time and efforts in re-inventing the wheel! By RE RESETTING our emancipation quest at the junction of IDENTITY politics we have not only “imitated” and “innovated” on what worked for some people faced with similar struggles, we have INVENTED ourselves a new course to ply the emancipation quest.

The AMBAZONIAN LIBERATION MOVEMENT which is not affiliated with the Republic of Ambazonia, have always recognized the need to work with the other emancipation entities as we represent "the people of Ambazonia" desirous of unity of purpose! This will be where power shall be invoked to "elicit compliance" from the recalcitrant Cameroonian state. There exist lots of precedence of these kinds of actions and alliances all over history. Start by imitating! If that doesn’t work, try to “innovate”, if all fails simply put your minds and INVENT. This is what we should have done long ago. This is what we hope we –the Ambazonian People desirous of detonating a FREE AMBAZONIAN LIBERATION MOVEMENT, hope we have done.

GOD BLESS AMBAZONIA – BUT FIRST MAKE AMBAZONIA HAPPEN

Sincerely

Edwin Ngang
