The Gujarat University has decided to introduce online admissions for MPhil and PHD courses as there have been allegations of ineligible people getting entry.
As per GU officials the online admission process was introduced for the first time in the wake of allegations that many students who were given admissions had not been eligible.
Students will be required to get registration forms from designated banks between July 4 and July 11.
Students will have to register online on the GU website during the same period. Officials said that after registration, the GU would conduct an entrance test for students. The results will be declared online after preparing merit lists based on the marks scored in the entrance exam and in the group discussion.
Earlier, students were required to submit forms to authorities.
However, there were allegations that some officials favoured select candidates and accepted forms even after the submission deadline, reported ToI.--
