Re: Cameroon: DANGOTE Group vs France’s CIMENCAM in Cameroon

I will always give my due respects to Alhadji Dangote for taking the initiative he did at the right time. I think the right question to ask is what happened to Cameroonian ingenuity and business acumen. There are three main Cement manufacturers in Cameroon: the French Paint Conglomerate "Lafarge" which owns Cimencam (deceived Cameroon with a few insignificant shares to SNI-Cameroon Government) while ripping the lion share of the mega-profits. They are closely followed by Moroccan company CIMAF (partly owned equally by another French Industrial giant).

Enter Dangote Group that planned in 2015 to grab at least 25 - 30% of Cement Market share in the entire Francophone region.
They landed with an aggressive Marketing strategy that caught those French guys almost off Guard. The Dangote factory brought down the wholesale price of Cement from the Cimencam 4700F to 4300FCFA for a conventional bag of 50kg (with free delivery to distributors). Dangote facilitated business transactions ushering in an era of new vendors and sales men. The new entrepreneurs were sold a Truck load of 700 bags of 50kg Dangote Cement for CFA 3 Million francs and promised a delivery to any location in Cameroon and other Central African countries between two and five days.

Unfortunately the perennial problem of criminally dilapidated roads even in major cities started breaking down their numerous  delivery Trucks; unnecessary Road blocks from "Law dis-Enforcement" officers...and other unforeseen road-blocks like administrative chicaneries, cumbersome bureaucracies and much more. I would not be surprised if after a few years...wuna only hia say the Pah Naija Dogo-Yara Dangote Billionaire don Poum Kommot go another secteur. Some man na ngrung beep? Na who want loss kobo 4 Kontri weh dem peepoo NO WANT CHANGE? Our country and our kontri peepoo are just outright CRAZY. We all so-called Cameroonians we Head no correct 4 inside. That includes me sef sef bicos my own craze dey worry. On va faire comment? RDPC/SeePeeDeeM Oyeh!!!!!!
For the past few days, I just pick up my phone and start talking: thinking there is someone at the other end with "Hallo, Hallo, Na me Mishe Fon...Am I talking to Massa M'po M'bya? I want to tok to the Phreshident of Yaoundé? Na you dey 4 line? Moi veux parler avec mon tonton le Pressy. Parlez-vous le English ou meme sep le Broking de Nkoululung?"
And then I will immediately realize that I was still under my mbororo (buy one get two free) Blanket and I needed to take my morning tam (Prozac) and other Merecines 4 Crize peepoo. Na so dis ngrung dey. Man go do how?

Tah Mfar Mishe Fon

Let me ask this. Before Dangote came to invest in Cameroon did he not know about the French influence there when it comes to competition from other investors from other countries? He did not wonder why since many years ago only CIMENCAM dominated the manufacture and sales in Cameroon? Even imported cheaper Cement are taxed in such a way that Cameroonians must prefer only CIMENCAM. He wants us to do what? Demonstrate and get shot and killed and nothing will be done about it? When people last demonstrated in Cameroon because they were simply hungry, how many hundreds were shot dead and what happened?
You are trying to advise us about the importance of cement as if that is news. Who wants to be buying expensive cement if there is a cheaper alternative? Tell Dangote to use his money and help Southern Cameroons attain independence. That way he will have a means of  doing business with Central Africa without French influence over him.

DANGOTE Group vs France's CIMENCAM in Cameroon
People,
I like to bring this topic up for discussion in this forum. I do not have all the facts of this matter, but I am confident that the smart minds in this forum do. Please share any comments that you may have.
I was told that the "Dangote Group", which owns a Cement manufacturing company in Cameroon promised to sell a bag of cement for about FCFA 3,000. But the Government of Cameroon, using France's Cimencam as a tool to prevent our country from developing is imposing a higher price of FCFA 5,000 for a bag of Cement in Cameroon.
Why is this important ? Well, because in sub-Saharan Africa, where everything needs to be built or rebuilt, this is precisely the type of industry that we need. (the Dangote Cement Industry type).
Cement is at the core of any construction that our country needs. It is used to build roads, bridges, pavements, homes, stadiums, and infrastructure of all kinds.
We need a Cement Industry that can manufacture Cement and make it cheaper and affordable to our people and the country.
Think about how this can reduce the overall cost of building a home or any infrastructure for that matter. The difference of FCFA 2,000 on a bag a cement can tremendously reduce the overall cost of building any infrastructure by about 35%.
In Nigeria, a bag of Cement if about FCFA 2,000 compared to $5,000 in Cameroon. Why ? And you wonder why Nigeria is being developed 3 times faster than Cameroon –of FrancAfrique-- ?
Bollore and Total, the French enslavers will never build a Cement company in Cameroon –just as it is with SONARA with the high gasoline prices-- that sells a bag of Cement at that price, because their goal is not to see us develop, but to steal our money and repatriate all their profits to France.
Our African brother Company Dangote Group, who wants to see us develop, has brought African money – in Naira-- to our rescue. But our Government, --probably under France's coercion,-- is standing on the way, because it puts the slave master's interest before that of their own people.
People,
the changes that we seek will only come with our awareness of how our country is being governed by the traitors of Black sub-Saharan Africa.
A country like Cameroon where everything is to be built or rebuilt, Cement has to be made affordable at the lowest possible price. And you don't need to be "professeur agrege" to understand that. Or do you ?
