Mr.Chatterjee's inspirational thoughts on performance audit for educational institutions is a welcome suggestion.
Institutions have audit process for accounts administration. They don't have audit for performance of the institutions as such and their teaching faculty members.
Every institution takes stock of number of seats filled every year and fee remittance. Very little concern on quality of teaching, faculty development and students' understanding of the subjects. There is a dire need for individual performance appraisal and audit. Every act is measurable. There must be accontability in everything.
