Re: [MTC Global] Teaching profession should be a choice or chance?

Pay commissions have always placed college/University teachers at par with administrative officers{IAS). In practice, compensation for administrative officers are never compromised.
And position of teachers in higher education is miserable in this regard. Large number of well qualified and adequately talented faculty members are working in severely under-paid conditions.
If you can make working conditions of teachers proper, you may well expect larger numbers of teachers by choice. This is at least one major solution of the problem.

Dear Professors,

Teaching profession has become a chance for many and only few can be found passionate about it.

We had conducted a research at many colleges of Bangalore and Mangalore, Karnataka on this issue and found that nearly 70% of teaching professionals have taken this profession as a chance but not as a choice.

How can we expect good results when teachers are not passionate about their job?

Please extend your views on this issue.
