Re: [MTC Global] What kind of jobs will be available 10 years from now?

It's a matter of great concern in fact, not only in terms of jobs, but also for the institutions of society like family, education etc. It is going to increase the disparity between rich and poor.  All our scientific efforts are in the direction of increasing comfort and not the essentials. Unless price of essential commodities including education comes down, we can't have peaceful society.
If we are not going to engage our youth meaningfully, there is going to be an increase in terrorism.
Question is are we ready to face all this, if yes, then at what cost...

10 years is too far to think or forecast. The legendary IBM founder Thomas Watson remarked that the " world shall require only 5 mainframes". Within an year, mini computers came with an awesome power far of 10 to 50 times that of a main frame. IT czar Bill gates stated in 1981 that a PC will not require more than 64 KB RAM. He had to take back the statement in 6 months & today we talk of 64 GB RAM. Both these legends & many others were proved wrong in last few decades.

Reason : The cataclysmic changes we are witnessing in several areas / domains, every year or two years, has a strong reason. Hexabytes of information & data is getting generated & is coming into the world every year. This shall continue to have a profound act on the systems, markets, business models, lifestyles, economies, etc. Hving taught Technology management for over a decade, I can say that any projection or extrapolation or forecast beyond 2 years will go topsy turvy.

Whatever you are doing - Plan monthly, quarterly, half yearly & yearly & that is a safe bet.
