Higher Education must help youngsters in establishing interpersonal skills, a sense of identity, and role in society.

• The job market can be dynamic and unpredictable, and social inclusion is crucial to keep youth active and engaged so that when a full-time job does appear, they are ready to take it.
• Without a secure income or a clear career path, highly qualified people are left feeling vulnerable, let down by the system, and socially excluded.
• Long-term disengagement from the job market has serious consequences.
  
• Along with the financial strain it places on the unemployed, joblessness also negatively impacts their psychological and social well-being.

Though India is home to a number of good quality higher education institutes, the country has failed to get its due recognition at the global stage. An all new QS Higher Education System Strength Rankings (HESSR) 2016 which ranks the nations based on their higher education system, has given India the 24^th rank in the world while placing the US at the top.

India managed a score of 60.9 marks out of the maximum 100 marks on offer. While the US topped the list with 100 marks, the second place is occupied by the Uk with 98.5 marks. Germany, with a score of 94 takes the third spot. The last place was taken by Pakistan with a score of 9.2.

The rankings are based on 4 parameters, viz, economic concept of the nation, the strength of the system, access and the flagship. Equal weightage was given to all these categories in order to arrive at the final rankings.

India was at the 20^th position in the category of system strength. Only the institutes which feature in the top 700 list of the QS World Rankings are considered in order to calculate these higher education rankings.

India managed its highest ranking in the economic context category here, India managed to get the 4^thrank overall while the US topped this category as well.

While the standard of students in India is one of the best in the world, it is a general perception that the system hasn't allowed them to reach their true potential. As a result, thousands of students opt for the US and the UK as their higher education destination.
