Title: DevOps Engineer
Duration: Long Term Contract
Location: Boston, MA
Responsibilities:
· Lead our DevOps team
· Help engineer and architect new solutions
· Manage production, QA and staging environments
· Understand, implement and automate security controls, governance processes and compliance validation
· Define and deploy monitoring, metrics and logging systems on AWS
· Ensure systems availability and scalability
· Design, manage and maintain tools to automate operational processes
· Operate the platform within our security and privacy guidelines
· Implement and manage continuous delivery systems and methodologies for AWS
· Oversee Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment
· Experience with at least one of the following Linux server distributions: Ubuntu, Centos Amazon Linux
· Knowledge of deploying node.js in production
· Knowledge of deploying Docker containers
· Experience with Docker ecosystems such as Amazon ECS and Joyent Triton
· Experience with AWS technologies such as EC2, VPC, S3, RDS, ElasticSearch
· Knowledge of web scripting languages such as Python and JavaScript/node.js
· Experience with Amazon AWS APIs including tools like Boto or Knife
· Experience with Relational Databases
· Strong knowledge of Software development life cycle (SDLC)
Required Skills and Experience:
· Must be qualified to work in the US
· At least 5 years relevant industry experience working with a 24/7 operations mentality
· Ability to work non-standard or additional hours (including weekends) when necessary
· Ability to work with multiple software engineering teams as an Ops resource
· System Administrator experience on Linux servers and the ability to cut/grep/awk your way through the command line
· Deep understanding of source control systems and the willingness to learn (SVN, Git, etc.), including branching and merging strategies
· Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS/EC2, Rackspace Open Cloud, etc.)
· Experience with Build/Deploy/Continuous Integration tools such as Jenkins or Bamboo
· Experience with scripting languages such as Bash and Python
· Monitoring, Trending and Reporting Experience, think Nagios, Sensu, Graphite, Ganglia, etc.
· Experience with Apache/Nginx web servers and back-end technologies such as node.js, Tomcat or PHP
· Understanding of protocols and technologies such as HTTP, SSL, LDAP, SQL, DNS
· Application clustering/load balancing concepts and technologies
· Experience with web security and patching strategies
· Experience with cloud backup strategies
· Ability and motivation to automate tasks wherever possible
