Mr Nfor, Thanks for the updates on the case. I gave the story the way
I was told. However I contacted a Buea-based Lawyer yesterday who was
to provide me the final information today. However November is 30
days. Which of the days is it in November?
Another point is that I was not advocating for court cases in order to
take advantage for our people to demonstrate. I was simply advocating
that we should take advantage of any errors by LRC. The efforts and
mobilisation of funds to rescue or feed victims of LRC in jail are
counterproductive for they would have been more usefully employed
somewhere else to speed up the process.
I'd equally think that fundraising programs should be fundraising
programs. And the purpose and intent should be clear and the people
who contribute this money must know how this money is spent. Even
those who do not contribute may be spurred to do so when they learn
their money could be usefully employed for the purposes for which it
was intended.
The Signature Referendum is, as all of us are now confirming, of
paramount importance. You did a wonderful job by assembling your LGA
members to expedite action. The idea of a card accompany the
signatures and a hundred francs could be a wonderful one for if every
signatory paid in 100 francs we could have a whooping 200 million
francs that will go a long way to alleviate our plight. But we should
note that some mothers and fathers in the suburbs where these forms
were sent to may not be able to raise a hundred francs and this would
deter them from signing this form and the consequences we all know.
From our discussion with Mola Njoh Litumbe who initiated the idea
there were no speed breaks and that is why I took it upon myself to
produce as many of these forms as possible from my own pocket and
distributed as far as Kumbo, Fundong, Batibo and the rest/ I just pray
there shouldn't be any confusion in the field. I pray you should call
your field Marshals to let the people know that if they have already
signed the others they shouldn't sign twice.
One for all, all for one.
Your humble servant
Nke Valentine
