It is rather unfortunate that I mixed up some facts about reports on the developments afield. My report about Chia Samuel and Mary Ankiambom, although they were called up for questioning, were inaccurate for that contained a melee of reports gleaned from several precincts from the Southern Cameroons. Sam's report could never have contained the fact that he had collected up 1250 signatures for it was only the previous day and I do not really know the hour he received a copy of the form that I sent to him. Sam happens to have been the only one at the time that came to mine, being a childhood friend, and not an activist, that I could channel those forms. After cross-checking the reports I discovered this report came from elsewhere and I regretted the error. I need to send accurate reports to this forum and that is why I am sending this rejoinder. I wish to explicitly apologize for this error and ask for a sincere forgiveness and promise never to make such an error. The instructions were to show any other person interested in the independence of the Southern Cameroons/ Ambazonia to sign as per the instructions from the origin of the forms as I got them in Buea. No one was obliged to sign them except you bought this idea.
Buying the idea from the originator of the forms Mola Njoh Litumbe, we do not need violence to invite the UN to right the wrongs of 1961 which we all know, we need to go peacefully. Hence the referendum is a tacit way to seek the opinions of the Southern Cameroonian/Ambazonians to present to the UN to decide on a peaceful separation between La Republique du Cameroun and Southern Cameroonians, whether by referendum or whatever means they would like to right the wrongs.On Wed, Sep 28, 2016 at 2:33 PM, Valentine Nke <valienke@gmail.com> wrote:
Mr Fonjong,The Two arrested were Chia Samuel Awoh a worker with ELECAM in Njinikom and Madame Mary Amkiambom a worker with Njinikom Council. They were both released on bail and Sam says he spent up 60000 francs to be released just as Mola has said "I suspect this is the usual corruption trick to terrorize people and extort bribes," It is what has just happened. Prior to his arrest Sam had told me he had already 1250 signatures. Talking with my other agent in Njinikom he says the arrest has instead created more awareness and he has an avalanche of people pouring in to sign. Every cloud has a silver lining. But Sam's greatest fear is that he may lose his job. I shall drive down to Fundong and Njinikom tomorrow to have an on0ther-spot appraisal... Maybe to arrested too.On Wed, Sep 28, 2016 at 2:05 PM, 'cmfonjong' via ambasbay <ambasbay@googlegroups.com> wrote:Hi MolaCan you please provide me with details of those arrested? Under what circumstances they were arrested. When were they arrested?Can you also despatch all the signed forms? If they see the forms, they will cease them. And get a group of lawyers aware of the situation. Also get some guards.....some sort of trusted security guys around. These guys can come at night or very early in the morning. So, be prepared for them.Keep us updated and leave some key contact details to an aide of yours. That aide should contact and inform us of anything that could happen with you.ThanksCallistusSent from my Samsung Galaxy S6 - powered by Three-------- Original message --------From: Njoh Litumbe <njohl42@gmail.com>Date: 28/09/2016 21:05 (GMT+00:00)To: 'Immanuel TatahMentan' via ambasbay <ambasbay@googlegroups.com>Cc: Ambas Bay <ambasbay@yahoogroups.com>Subject: Re: Two arrested in Njinikom over Signature referendumI think it was Mr Samuel Awoh who telephoned me this afternoon to report that he was waiting to be arrested for filling Signature Referendum forms, and that the Gendarmes in Buea were reported to be organizing to come and arrest me too. I informed him that I am waiting to receive them, but up till 8.45pm, nobody has visited me at my residence.I suspect this is the usual corruption trick to terrorize people and extort bribes, for I cannot see the crime in signing a piece of paper. I hope these actions of LRC would not convert a simple peaceful operation into violent disorder. I am waiting to receive them, but they had better count the cost of causing a breach of public peace!Mola--On Wed, Sep 28, 2016 at 8:24 PM, Valentine Nke <valienke@gmail.com> wrote:Hostages releasedChia Samuel Awoh and Mart Ankiambom who were arrested by the Fundong Gendarems have been released. They are presently still being interrogated or detained at the Gendarmerie. Prior to the arrest Sam had called me that he was about to be arrested. An overzealous citizen from Njinikom had gone to the Brigade in Njinikom and reported that Sam and this lady were administering the Signature Referendum. The Njinikom Gendarmes raided Sam's office (he works with ELECAM)_ searched and carried away many of the forms they saw. Luckily they never took those that had been signed already and Sam told me he had already more than 1250 signatures. I have called his number over and over. It is ringing but no one speaks. He last told me he was going to talk back to me but since then.I shall monitor the situation and by tomorrow go down and join him in the cell since I gave him the forms.;
