[MTC Global] Improving Students Communication Skills

Respected members of this platform,

I take this opportunity to discuss on an important factor which enhances our students employability.

I have done a lot research on improving students communication skills.

Every day I handle English language skills classes for our students as a compulsory subject.

Here is the methodology which I follow but it's your suggestions beautifies the process as usual, kindly read and let me know if anything more should be added.

To improve communication skills in English I suggest the following

1. Have a very clear subject line.

When you write a letter or you type an email and even when you speak.

2. Draft logically.

The letter and contents should be precise and error free and as well as clean and clear.

3. Use short sentences.

Follow the KISS Principle I.e.. Keep it short and simple. Say everything in a shortest possible form.

4. Try using bullet points.

This ensures that each point is separate and clearly expressed.

5. Work on your sentence construction, grammar, pronunciation and vocabulary.

This will come with practice. I suggest you draft and then take the help of someone who has good command over English to edit your draft and speech. This will enable you to understand your mistakes and improve.

6. Don't expect quick results and don't be disheartened by criticism. However you should get the feeling that you are improving.

7. Oral English.

I strongly suggest you ask others to correct you when you speak in English. You must also try your best to speak as often as possible in English. This will enable you to use new words, smoothen your thought process when using English and ensure valuable practice.

8. Read the daily English newspaper and / or magazines aloud.

9. Voice recording, listening, correcting the bugs and beautifying the voice.

10. Rather trying western accent, Stick to neutral accent and keep English as natural as it is.

Awaiting your auspicious suggestions

Best Wishes
