I am attaching a sample size table that can guide efforts in survey and/or referendum signatures exercise.  Pollsters and researchers use tables of this nature. What it shows here is that 10,000 signatures for a population of 6 Million is perfectly acceptable and adequate. Sometimes a researchers charged with emotions tends to overcharge and overload themselves when a smaller number is valid for generalizability. Infact, getting 2 Million is better and getting all 6 million people is even best.
