Cameroon Journal, Buea – Close to 200 school Principals, Divisional
and Regional Delegates for Secondary Education in Fako and Meme
divisions in the South West region Monday Nov. 28 refused to be
intimidated to signing a memorandum hastily put together by Emilia
Lifaka intended to be a denunciation of the ongoing strike action by
teachers in the North West and South West regions.

One of the principals present at the meeting but who pleaded not to be
named said the meeting was heavily attended by education stakeholders
in the two divisions. The meeting was chaired by CPDM Central
committee delegate to the South West, Emilia Lifaka.

The meeting was also very heavily attended by principals of both
private, government and mission schools but ended in a deadlock as the
participants rather asked that Lifaka go dialogue with Teachers'
Syndicate that initiated the strike instead of trying to persuade
them.

They bold face told Lifaka that they cannot sign any document
denouncing the strike because they are afraid they or their family
members may be attacked.

The meeting which also saw the presence of Hon Fortcha of Lebialem and
Dr Teke of UB took place on the campus of the Government technical
High School in Buea.
