Position: Sr. Java Developer

 Location: Durham, NC

Duration: Contract

 

 

Job Description:

Focused on building, testing, and deploying a web-based application within a fast-paced Continuous Integration and Delivery environment. While mentoring other developers where applicable, this role also provides guidance and recommendations toward the improvement of the Continuous Integration Delivery pipeline.

 

·         Write new and reusable code to support the development of a web-based application

·         Write unit testing code and defining unit test cases

·         Develop flexible REST API Web Services using Spring MVC and Spring Data

·         Actively participate in technical and user story discussions

·         Prepare technical specification and installation instructions in each sprint release

·         Assist in code reviews and help to ensure software development guidelines are followed

 

Requirements:

·         Excellent writing and oral communications skills required

·         Strong organization and good interpersonal skills is required

·         Works collaboratively in a team-based Agile environment with other technical staff, business owners, and subject matter experts

·         Able to learn quickly and effectively apply new knowledge, demonstrating the desire to stay in touch with emerging technologies

·         Must be able to finish tasks with minimum supervision

·         Able to put in extra hours as required for special projects/problems for critical issues

·         Solid experience in latest Java server side development essential (Java 7 or 8)

·         Spring (one or more of the following: Core, MVC, Batch, Security, Data, etc.)

·         REST Web Services API JSON

·         Angular JS

·         HTML5 / CSS / JavaScript

·         Testing frameworks such as JUnit, TestNG, Selenium, Spock, Cucumber

·         DynamoDB, MongoDB, or similar NoSQL database

·         Oracle, Teradata, or similar RDBMS

·         Tomcat, JBoss, Glassfish, or WebSphere

·         Software as a Service (SAAS) multi-tenant application

·         Architecture and development experience in enterprise applications

·         Familiarity with software development methodologies

 

Experience

·         Minimum of 5-10 years of experience developing web applications using Java, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Angular JS
