I do not think that any one should waste his/her time responding to such none sense. Where is the said Mengot coming from when he talks of SW Chiefs vouching for a ten federation? May I just remind Mengot that the ten state Federation issue was first raised by SWELA in the early nineties. The SW Chiefs then bought into the idea but that idea died on 1st April 1993. On that critical date of 1st April 1993, SWELA held an Exco meeting in OIC Buea to decide on the position to take on the AAC1 that was to hold in Buea beginning 2nd April 1993. I co chaired that meeting with Nnoko Mbele because the late Chairman Barrister Enow was too ill to attend. I was one of the four Assistant Secretaries Generals. That meeting resolved never to take any stance against what ever resolution would be taken by AAC1 because SW being just part of former Southern Cameroons, could not take a position different from what the AAC meeting would take. That is when AAC 1 resolved to callfor a return to a two state federation SWELA in general and the SW Chiefs simply went along with it. That has remained so since 1993. So Mr. Mengot stop trying to say something about which you know little.

We all acclaimed the common law lawyers and anglophone teachers for the battle to right the wrongs in the marginalisation of anglophones. However, i am beginnibg to get worried when i hear some northwesterners address the southwesterners as " too slow", "weak people", etc. Why should we the people from the north west region with a culture quite at variance with that of the south westerners think that they must behave like us. Why are we from the north west having such a domineering attitude? We have now turned the fight for anglophone lawyers and teachers to a demand for secesion. The people from the south west,following the communique from the chiefs conference are for a ten federated states according to the 1996 constitution. With our domineering attitude and our overwhelming majority we are seemingly looking for a way to rule over the south westerners as the francophones have ruled over us. I as a north westerner see this as super greed and wickedness. We have seen that all the prominent trade union leaders are from the north west. This is not a coincidence. It is simply because we want to always dorminate the south westerners in every aspect of the word. Why did they abandon the talks? It was because they realised in total consternation that it was a purely north west affair. And in pretencee they claimed they cannot continue with the talks if their south west brothers are not there. SHAME! SHAME!
