Re: BISHOPS CALL ON GOVERNMENT TO REOPEN DIALOGUE.

No bro

Once we become autonomous, name change is our right and the international community has no say. Congo Lepoldville changed to Zaire and to RDC. It is for historical and strategic perspective that the Southern Cameroon appelation must hold  for now. We should not get our interlocutors asking us: "but where is that again and what is its known history"? And we find ourselves pants down.

The reason my Fon never went far was because he adopted Ambazonia from the onset.

Soe one like Dr Yongbang can tell the diplomatic victories scored at the first Commonwealth summit where Cameroon was invited. Dr Yongbang (copied here) should have come out to say someting and have us put a final stop on this Ambazonia appelation for now. Strategically, it is not good for now. Those insisting on that have a hidden agenda which is not our liberation

And to make it even clearer Denis, once we tell the world and have on our own record that our name is Peter, we cannot turn around tomorrow to say we were Paul rather. Some of us really do consider certain things little whereas they mean a lot. We do not make mistakes with international bodies and correct them subsequently. I just wish our contributions help.

Dear Mr. Ntonufor,

You have said it all. That is the way it is. Unfortunately, our people are adding to the confusion by calling their country "West Cameroon". This is almost an abomination to me. The name of our country is "The Southern Cameroons" or "British Southern Cameroons", not "West Cameroon"!

Please I badly need the email address of the Bishops. I need to get to them with documents so that they should not continue to give the false impression that we accept the rule of Republique du Cameroun in our territory.

Church leaders are not politicians and should never assume such positions because, as it has proven itself over and over, they often do not address reality. The British Southern Cameroons does not constitute regions of the Republic of Cameroon and nobody should imply this. The lies tellers east of the Mungo have given that impression over the decades and nobody should, under any pretext of talking on our behalf seek to confirm it. If anybody wants to talk on our behalf, he/she should be telling the occupier of our land to take away their administration and military and let us alone. We are not engaging in any more talks with the Republic of Cameroon until they bring back our kidnapped citizens. Moreover, any talks must be under the mediation of either the AU or the UN. Henceforth, anyone who goes talking on our behalf must be delegated by our leadership.

The Bishops of the Bamenda Provincial Episcopal Conference (BAPEC) met with the Prime Minister and the Minister of Higher Education today, 31 January 2017. They expressed their concerns about the current crisis situation in the North West and South West Regions of Cameroon. They made proposals to Government to reopen the dialogue in the interest of getting a lasting solution to the Anglophone Problem.

The Bishops were particularly concerned about the stalemate in the schools and in other areas of life and business in the said Regions. However, they pointed out to the Prime Minister and the Minister of Higher Education that the resumption of schools and the calling off of the strike depend on the effective provision of a lasting solution to the crisis by Government, the decision of the Teachers' Trade Union Leaders and the spontaneous collaboration of parents.

For and on behalf of the Bishops of BAPEC:
Zephyrinus YEM MBUH, SD,
Secretary General of BAPEC.
