Job Description:

 

Responsibilities:
∙ Work closely with other members of the team to evaluate, implement, and manage operational cyber security across the network;
∙ Work with Arbor Peak Flow monitoring systems and applications, identify DDoS threats and respond to high alerts;
∙ Interacts with the network engineering team to select and deploy tools and controls to meet specific cyber security requirements, and define processes and standards to ensure that cyber security configurations are maintained;
∙ Research, evaluate, and recommend network cyber security-related hardware and software;
∙ Perform periodic security assessments including but not limited to network scans, vulnerability / penetration testing to ensure that system, network and applications meet industry standard best practices security standards;
∙ Work with management to develop strategies and plans to enforce cyber security requirements and address identified risks;
∙ Report to management concerning residual risk, vulnerabilities and other cyber security DDoS exposures, including misuse of information assets and noncompliance;
∙ Develop cyber security awareness materials and provide ongoing cyber security training to various levels of the business unit;
∙ Interact with customers and end users to gather information pertinent to the analysis and mitigation of DDoS and security threats;
∙ Collaborate with IP engineering team on critical projects to ensure that cyber security issues are addressed throughout the project life cycle;
∙ Assist in process improvement and automation. Coach and train less experienced NOC engineers.

Requirements:
∙ Experience in a NOC operation or in a similar 24x7 operation (3.5+ years);
∙ Experience with SONET and IP Systems / Services;
∙ Experience supporting and troubleshooting Ethernet and MPLS networks consisting of VLAN, ISP and other IP services;
∙ Experience with transport and transmission systems relevant to DWDM, SONET, OCx, SDH and asynchronous signals;
∙ Experience with Arbor Peakflow DDoS mitigation application (preferred);
∙ CISSP, CCNA, CEH, Security+, GIAC certifications (preferred);
∙ Degree in information cyber security, network cyber security or IT cyber security (preferred);
∙ Bachelor's degree in information systems or related field.
