Re: [MTC Global] [Weekdays Discussion-I] Declines in Student Number & Challenges of rightsizing

Is it possible, in view of our deteriorating moral values after freedom,  to change the public mind set (leaders are elected by public!) that is after short-cuts, less work more money, speed money, etc.? We have  statutes of great souls like Mahatmaji but what about the spirit? Charity starts at home.

Dear Prof Bholanath,

You have brought out a very relevant topic.
The declining number speaks a lot about our colonial education
system, quality of education and education not connected with
life skills , not connected with our development goals ,not connected with
human development. Other Countries, comparable with India or even smaller
are doing far better than us.

It is high time now to introduce education system as Visualized by Mahatma Gandhi
providing work for all and learning by doing .Let us not politicize this issue. At one end
we have vast population of unemployed youth and we have falling numbers in students
enrollment. Billions are being Invested in Infrastructure, Shipping, Railways,Hospitaliity, tourism, Roads
and we have unemployment. Our Health Indices are pathetic and every parent wants his
son or daughter only to be doctor or engineer nothing else.
Is this not another form of castism ?

Thanks

Rajendra

Interesting discussion of higher education institutions .  All talk about declines in student numbers & challenges of "rightsizing".

It would be interested to hear the views of the esteemed MTCians.
